DOOM engine game #53906835406 right? The source being released isn't 'that' awesome in that case, but still cool of them to do it.
more like Wolf3D engine with a few bells and whistles
This one actually allowed texturized floor and ceiling, whilst the original Wolf3D engine didn't. Blake Stone is an enjoyable game, too bad it got overshadowed by Doom, which was released in the same period.
more like Wolf3D engine with a few bells and whistles
Didn't Blake Stone have NPC interaction?
Didn't Blake Stone have NPC interaction?
Yeah, informants. Who look exactly like Biotech enemies.
'YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO SHOOT THE INFORMANTS!' They never have valuable information anyway
Killing them was no different than killing a kleiner npc in gmod. Good target practice! :suicide:
'YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO SHOOT THE INFORMANTS!' They never have valuable information anyway
Informants tell you when the Dual Neutron Disruptor (the most powerful weapon, for those who don't know) is hidden on a floor, typically on one of the first floors in an episode. If you completely ignore the secret areas, you may have to go through nearly the entire episode before you ever come across a "normal" Disruptor pickup, if at all. However, if you search for secret areas but never pay heed to what informants say, you're still not much better off as you have to hope you'll blindly stumble upon the weapon when it very well could be hidden on the next floor or even the previous one. Informants are also the most reliable source of vending unit tokens since they can always give you one. These become quite handy when health pickups become sparse in later levels yet still have plenty of vending units around.
Fuck yeah, Blake Stone. Love its theme song. I wish they'd remake this game so that it had the same cheesy feel the original had.
'YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO SHOOT THE INFORMANTS!' They never have valuable information anyway
Talk to them twice and you usually get either ammo or money. You can hit the max amount of money in no time if you do this.
