Internet was shut down for "Ignoring DMCA notices" without us actually getting any notices

Yesterday I went to check my email and I wasn't able to connect to the internet, but I had to go to work in a couple minutes so I just reset the router and assumed it'd be back up by time I got home. Long story short I didn't end up home until pretty late, but the internet was still out, but I was too tired to deal with it. I got up this morning and tried again, but still got nothing. I was assuming we were shut down preemptively for nonpayment again (they've shut us down twice so far for nonpayment with over a week left to get the bill paid before it became past due) but our landline phone worked which means it was something else seeing how we bundled the phone and internet.
I called the 800 number expecting to have to deal with a machine the whole time since it's thanksgiving, but I actually got transfered to a guy that told me that it was put on hold for ignoring multiple DMCA notices, and that I'd need to delete the files that they had in the notices before they turned it back on. I told the guy that we never received ANY notices, so I couldn't really do much. The guy turned the internet back on and asked for my email so they could send me the notices, and after a couple minutes I found it in my spam folder. The only problem was that the email was almost completely unreadable, so the guy had to read the files off to me and he had to go and mark them as deleted because the links I was supposed to click to tell them I deleted the files were all broken. Once that was all taken care of I asked to speak to a supervisor and got transfered. I pretty much straight up said "What are you guys gonna give us for this? This is the third time that our internets been shut down preemptively, and if you're just going to ignore it then we're going to take our business somewhere else" He told me that he can't do anything and the loyalty department is closed until tomorrow, so I took down his Tech ID and hung up.
so now I want to know basically if it was even legal for them to shut us down without issuing any notices. Either way we don't really have the resources to take action, but when I call up the loyalty department tomorrow morning I want to know what I'm talking about.
Other people in your house, especially younger siblings? Maybe they have actually sent you notices, but someone's been hiding them?

He had already said that they had sent him notices, but they were in the junk email folder and unreadable anyway.
Nope, I handle all that stuff, and I'm not denying downloading any of the files they accused me of downloading, but according to the email I'm completely off the hook because I complied and just deleted the files as long as I don't download more

They sent those AFTER it was shut down. I had to give them an email to send it to

Ah yeah, sorry. Misread your post.
No one can shut down the internet, because it's the ultimate power, no one can tell it what to do!
:suicide:
what's the DMCA
fuck my ignorance
What were the files and why were they making you delete it and can they even do that?
Piracy is bad don't do it ok

I also want to know what the files were.

Well, if they're going to send you notices, it is a requirement (at least in AU) that they're understandable.
If the email was broken when they resent them, it's still their fault

They didn't resend anything, they only sent one copy of the notices

Kinda obvious isn't it.
