• Fox News uses footage of Greek riots for Moscow riots coverage
It was as newsworthy as any story in this crazy news year. But, it wasn’t sexy or riot-y enough for producers at Fox News. The “news” outlet figured it would be a better story if its coverage were spiced up with footage of riot police and streets on fire from protests in Athens, Greece. Because that’s how Fox rolls. Animal New York’s Marina Galperina spotted some suspicious looking palm trees during the Fox News report and quickly put two and two together. Fox News pulled its report, but thanks to Yahoo it lives on in infamy. Fairly sad that Fox News had to go and make these protests something they weren’t. Galperina notes: "This election sucked. Protests continue. Lots of the actual fighting is being done by creepy pro-Kremlin young’un Nashi Party, who even had a drum line in their opposition to opposition protests. Also, the authorities have shot themselves in the foot by demonstratively arresting major/celebrity opposition leader Alexey Navalny, proving his coined phrase that Medvedev’s United Russia is a “party of crooks and thieves.” Also, the other night “soccer hooligan” thugs suddenly put themselves in charge of enforcing crowd “order” (which is always a bad sign) and bullied journalists. Also, Voina’s Leonid Nikolayev was arrested and then excitingly escaped from custody. But yeah, no palm trees." The Atlantic Wire has even put together a photo comparison showing just how badly Fox News lied in its coverage. The biggest discrepancy would be the riot police involved. Either Fox News was just lazy and didn’t care, or they maliciously meant to mislead and thought nobody would notice. Either one is not good for a news organization.
http://hypervocal.com/news/2011/fox-news-throws-some-greece-on-moscow-riots-non-fire-pulls-report/ Video / photos of footage used in the article. I have to wonder if politicians and news media will ever catch up to the fact that the internet makes it impossible lie.

Can't outfox the internet!
This is more hilarious then when they used footage from california for something in the north east.
Gotta make it look dramatic and pander towards entertaining the viewers.
good god how is this still a news channel?
All those white people look the same anyway
good god how is this still a news channel?
its not, they registered fox news as an entertainment show so they could get away with stuff like this
If I had a penny for everytime Fox News acts stupid...
If I had a penny for everytime Fox News acts stupid...
You could buy the observable universe as private property.
Why am I not surprised...
Bill O'Reilly accused the LA protesters during the Occupy smears as anti-Semites because of some film of black guy in New York shouting a bunch of hate speech about Jews and splicing it in with the riot footage.
Sorta reminds me of when a program showed ArmA 2 footage "You can see the terrible terrorists right there"
palm trees in russia, kremlin possibly manufactoring weather weapon, more at 11 [editline]8th December 2011[/editline] lol footage of athens riot police, wouldn't people notice from the writing on their shields that they aren't russian?
Sorta reminds me of when a program showed ArmA 2 footage "You can see the terrible terrorists right there"
one of ireland's pro-IRA news programs and it basically showed arma 2 footage on very low settings, blurred and with a choppy framerate, of the game's antagonist force (chernarus or w/e they call it) shooting down a helicopter with a truck-mounted AA gun there you go, that was the original clip, and here it is on the news program

Heck, I'm starting to doubt if they can even read the Latin alphabet.
