I want to get an ipod just to play games in class and I was wondering, does it make a huge difference if I get an ipod 3g instead of an ipod 4g?I want to be able to play most apps and games, that's all.
No, not really. I think the latest iPod just has a camera and is capable of facetime and recording videos.
That's lovely.I just want the cheapest one to play some games.I will probably just give it to my brother when im done with school.
If you want to play games, the 4G would be better due to it's improved processing capabilities. I find it difficult at times to play on my 3G which I've had since December 2009. The 4G isn't that expensive anyway. And if you get a 3G 8GB you won't be able to run iOS 5
I actually want games like azada or ninja fruit and maybe once in a while a heavy FPS game.So it would be a bad deal to get an ipod 3g? So if I don't have iOS 5 I can't play most of the games right?
Just get the 4g, it's worth the extra few -insert currency here-.
-insert currency here- should have been USD because that's the only currency that matters
I found a good deal for the ipod 3G that's why I am asking.
4g has much more stuff and a WAY better processor
I'd get the latest one if you can, as Apple decided it would be a fabulous idea to stop supporting generations after a while. My 1st gen didn't even get the iOS4 update.
How about do your homework in class

iPod 3g isn't as powerful as 4g, most apps that are available for iOS5 work on iOS4 since they were developed for iOS4 first in most cases, but even if not still have backwards compatibility. Also, if it's games that you are primarily after, don't get anything greater then iOS4 unless you are going to get someone to help you jailbreak it and revert it's OS back to 4.3.1 or something. EDIT: Oh, I should have read down further, you already have one.
Most people hate the 3g, due to its incompatibility with almost every app. You should get a 4g, mine's been jailbroken for about a year and a half now and is still at 4.1. works like a charm.
