Where's the update that makes DLC worth it? Or makes the game run as good as it did on launch? Or any fucking reasonable content updates?
Where's the update that makes DLC worth it?
don't buy it.
don't buy it.
thanks chief, didn't answer my question I stopped playing the game when DLC came out
thanks chief, didn't answer my question I stopped playing the game when DLC came out
i guess its not your type of game then, i was fine with the DLCs, may be overpriced but its obvious they won't be fixing the price problem. what i meant by in "don't buy it" is that you can play without the DLC's, no one forces you to buy it, or the game itself.
Except that 90% of the servers run DLC and I can play maybe two maps before I get booted out?
Except that 90% of the servers run DLC and I can play maybe two maps before I get booted out?
isn't there a dlc playlist/filter to find non-dlc servers? shouldn't be a problem if so.
isn't there a dlc filter to find non-dlc servers? shouldn't be a problem if so.
there's an option to show non-DLC maps but not non-DLC servers. And I don't like not having all the features of a game, and $45 is not justifiable for some maps, that's near expansion pack territory and if they included more content than just maps maybe I'd buy it. but there isn't.
well, it shows all servers without dlc currently on, but the map can switch to a dlc one and it will kick you, happens a lot
oh, i understand now i guess, i don't play CoD games from MW2 and up on pc, i would assume that it would say in the server name what dlc the server had, at least thats how it was in the old CoD games.
Added mouse scroll in the recent games menu
Took them an update to do this. :v:
Took them an update to do this. :v:
See, this is what I'm talking about too. Their updates have also been laughable for how much time elapses inbetween and it's almost been a year and the game is in an almost playable and almost fixed state? DX:HR was patched out the wazoo when it came out, what's different here?

DX:HR was patched out the wazoo when it came out, what's different here?
tbh what do you expect from a made-for-console game? as much as i enjoy and like it i got to admit to really enjoy the game its best on the console. plus its activision, treyarch, infinity ward, etc. they obviously don't really care about there fans anyway, i just play the games to have fun.
"It was made for consoles" shouldn't be an excuse to be pisspoor. But I suppose that's a gripe I've ought to take up to the millions of morons who eat that shit up, not with you.
I had to download nearly 3GB mainly for DLC I'll never buy. Thanks Activision!
Play cod4, problem solved.
Play cod4, problem solved.
I suppose, it does look just the same! :v:
Play cod4, problem solved.
or don't play cod at all, play battlefield or something similar. if i had a problem with CoD's dlcs i wouldn't think twice about playing something else, its not like its constantly in my face and i can't ignore it, the fact that its activision reaffirms the fact that your problem won't be solved, might as well leave it and go on.
I suppose, it does look just the same! :v:
different maps, different gamemodes, different guns, different name, different graphics, not really the same other than gameplay, i never understood this "looks the same" argument, i guess some people can't be pleased. i can understand MW3 tho, the graphics are quite similar to CoD4, i see this as them trying to improve the game by going back to their roots, hopefully with less juggernaut.
I am a fan of battlefield, but sometimes cod is more fun if you want a really fast paced game. Cod4 is actually a pretty damn good game, it's cod without shit plastered over it while college freshmen and 12 year olds have a circle jerk around it.

I like Black Ops for the gameplay, the Single Player story was okay, but the Multiplayer is what I'd most play. While it does contain alot of retarded people who can't tell the difference between a LAW launcher and a Grenade launcher (Believe it or not), there's also the good people where you can have a good time and actually (although very very rarely) get some actual teamwork done. In short, it's fun for me.
As an avid "CoDfag" [By your standards], Black Ops wasn't as much fun as it was compared to CoD4, World at War, and especially MW2. Hopefully with MW3, it looks like it's going to be changed up a bit. Black Ops, you need someone to play with. Pubstomping is non-existant.

I personally have had more fun in MW2 than I did with Black Ops so I'm hoping MW3 is the same, some crazy imbalance makes for some fun gameplay. I remembered abusing the FAL shotgun infinite range so much, those were the kinds of things that made MW2 fun. Black Ops was just so bland and had some serious performance issues (blamed on DirectX not being direct-to-hardware.) Easily the worst in the series IMO.
the engine is the exact same sans texture quality, some effects and a less obnoxious jelly-filled screen.
i think you're kind of exaggerating it, its still not the same game, new models, new story, its like complaining about the fact that Battlefield 3 uses the same alarm sound as in BFBC2 which was also used in BFBC1.
Black Ops sux.
i think you're kind of exaggerating it, its still not the same game, new models, new story, its like complaining about the fact that Battlefield 3 uses the same alarm sound as in BFBC2 which was also used in BFBC1.
It's not the same at all, they're literally the exact same engines. Different image sizes but you can see almost no change in graphics and IMO the color palette in CoD4 is less shitty than Black Ops'.
Black Ops was too balanced. Don't get me wrong, I like having a little bit of edge, but there was no fun factor to it. In MW2, you could do crazy ass stuff and still get the upper hand. Dual-Wield Vectors, AK47 Shotgun, M16 Thermal, etc. In Black Ops, you couldn't do any of these things. It was either go big or go home. The lack of stupidity in the game [aside from the other players, of course] didn't appeal to me. The few problems that MW2 had, instead of fixing them, Treyarch felt the need to remove the whole thing completely. This means: Nerfing Grenade Launchers, Making some perks Hard as Hell to upgrade, all the weapons are the same now, sniper rifles are useless, maps are smaller, thermal is useless, ACOG is a joke, etc. etc. etc. etc. Black Ops had no fun value to it, while MW2 did. (Using AK47 ACOG w/ Shotgun was fun as hell.)
Yeah, that's what I hated. Everyone bitched that MW2 was so goddamn unbalanced that Treyarch took it too far in Black Ops and classified weapons into basically high RoF, high damage, high accuracy. Half the assault rifles have the same iron sights, and a few more share the rear sight with them. It's ridiculously unvaried.
