In keeping with this month's theme of explosions, here's one that almost happened. http://yle.fi/uutiset/risk_of_explosion_at_vihtavuori_plant_decreases_evacuated_residents_hopeful_of_returning_home/6727869
Authorities remained on alert on Wednesday evening at the explosives plant in the Vihtavuori area of Laukaa in Central Finland. All local residents have been evacuated from the area. Although it seems likely that residents can return to their homes by Wednesday night, Laukaa is preparing to provide night accommodation for all the displaced residents, in the case of ongoing danger. An as of yet unidentified substance in an explosives waste container at the Forcit Vihtavuori explosives plant at Laukaa is believed to have caused a chemical reaction, posing a potential hazard at the facility that manufactures explosives used in mining and blasting. The container with explosives waste has been smouldering on plant premises since Tuesday evening. ... The Vihtavuori residential area, which falls within the danger zone of a potential explosion, was emptied of inhabitants early Wednesday afternoon. Of the 2,100 people residing in the area, over 400 were evacuated by the authorities, while the rest had left the area on their own accord, were at work at time of evacuation, or were away on their summer holidays.
TL;DR: A factory that manufactures explosives for blasting and mining recieved an explosives waste container from one of it's customers that underwent a chemical reaction, causing it to start smouldering and leading to the risk of a wider explosion in the factory area, which contains the equivalent of 150 tons of TNT. Cold water has been pumped into it to cool it down successfully. Local town was evacuated, though the residents can probably return soon.
Well on the bright side at least there wasn't any Finland.
Gotta love Finland.
Is this where all those damn barrels are coming from?

Huh i heard all day warnings in radio about something but i didn't bother listening more carefully. I did hear something about some ammunition factory or something in fire. So it was this... well good thing nothing happened.
