I need help with a graphics card decision. I'm building a complete rig and I've got everything all sorted out but I keep hearing diffrent about graphic cards. I was planning on getting a GTS 250. But some people say get 5770, and then a 260. I'm not exactly a pro on this. I understand somewhat about computer things but not enough. My max I wanna pay is maybe $200. I'd rather stay around 150-170. The games i'm gonna be playing are all the STALKERS, Fallout 3, BC2 and recently I really wanna play Metro 2033. Maybe Arma II. So help a brotha out, niggggggga. Oh yeah, I'm gonna be getting a quad core, 650 watt power supply.
A 5770 is a great card for your price range. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127490&cm_re=ati_radeon_hd_5770-_-14-127-490-_-Product

Hey ninja, how well that perform with the games I choose?
Depending on your resolution, it should run all the games you specified fine

fucking crysis benchmarks.. OP i have a xfx 5770 and it works plenty fine.. im running about 70-80 frames in bfbc2 and about 60 in metro on med / high.. its plenty for what u need
Thanks brosephs. I'll choose the powercolor 5770.
No, choose the XFX one if possible, they are the best brand for warranties and cooling.
Shit. The powecolor one is perfectly priced though.
if you can't get the XFX, just get powercolor. I don't think it will be a bad card, it just won't have all the fancy warranty stuff XFX offers

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161292&cm_re=4870-_-14-161-292-_-Product It's faster. Don't buy into DX 11.

Don't buy into DX 11.
OOOOR, get a GTX 260 Core 216. It is a bit more money, but is often faster/equal to the 4870 and occasionally 4890. Pretty easy to OC too. But the 4870 is a great card. I plan on buying a DX11 card when the GTX 460 is out, I will either get that, a GTX 470/80 (depending on price) or whichever ATi that competes.
You can get a DX11 card right now with ATI. The 5850 will dominate pretty much anything you throw at it right now.

Don't buy just for dx11, I think it will be a big fail. Just like dx10.

The GTX 260 Core 216 is slightly better. Doesn't seem worth it though for DX11.
