is there any software that allow you to control the fan speed in a laptop for Windows? I have SMC Fan Control on Mac OS X, but I can find one that works in XP or windows 7. Where I live it gets REALLY hot in the summer and I don't want my laptop overheating from lack of decent cool. idle its about 50 and when gaming it hits around 75 to 85 but it's extremely how to the touch, I actually got a small burn on my hand from it.
just buy a cooler pad for your laptop. its worth it.

This
Better to cool it down externally than have to reduce the lifespan of the fan internally.
i actually have one, it decreased all my temps by 5.

there must be really shitty fans in there if you still get burned even with a cooling pad.
not even my HP does that and HP is known for hot laptops.
in the laptop or chill pad? the laptop (MacBook) has just 1 fan, and the chill pad has 2 slightly bigger fans and idk what rpm they run at. but the MacBooks single fan's lowest rpm is 2000 and highest I've seen it go is 4907 rpm.

what company is the cool pad.
and i was talking about shitty fans in the computer. but also maybe the coolpad, because mine cools the laptop at least 10 degrees.
the coolpad i have is a targus and the two fans in it are pretty big.
i have Targus too.
