The American drinks company, a key Fifa sponsor, said: "Fifa needs comprehensive and urgent reform, and that can only be accomplished through a truly independent approach. "Every day that passes Fifa's image and reputation continues to tarnish."
Giant corporation trying to look like its innocent. Typical....
Giant corporation trying to look like its innocent. Typical....
But are instead completely guilty of....?
McDonald's too wants Sepp to fuck off immediately instead of fucking off in February.
Coca-Cola is huge funding from sponsorships for FIFA. I would take it pretty seriously if one of your sponsors might pull out due to being corrupt. It's a chain reaction once the (foot)ball starts rolling.
Giant corporation trying to look like its innocent. Typical....
They're not trying to look innocent, having their adverts on FIFA stuff is making them look bad by association.
Sepp Blatter is like a literal toad or something
That's an insult to amphibians.
Giant corporation trying to look like its innocent. Typical....
Are you sure dude? Coca Cola are just a soft-drink company and happen to have made it pretty big, having 'Corporation' after your name doesn't automatically make you evil.

This feels less like giving reason as to why that'd be a bad decision and more just saying "I don't care, you can't make me"
But are instead completely guilty of....?
Being an evil big corporation that is purposely trying to fatten america etc etc :vs:
Being an evil big corporation that is purposely trying to fatten america etc etc :vs:
worse than that, they've practically invaded Mexico's government and made soda cheaper than water in some areas.
A professional sport where referees are never wrong and you get fined or suspended for criticizing isn't corrupt at all :ok:
But are instead completely guilty of....?
Diabeetus, I guess? People don't get that you don't have to be a moral paragon to call out someone for something. In fact, it might actually be worse if you're called out by someone who isn't.
Are you sure dude? Coca Cola are just a soft-drink company and happen to have made it pretty big, having 'Corporation' after your name doesn't automatically make you evil.
the way they treat unionised workers in columbia does tho
Doesn't matter what Blatter thinks about the situation once coke and McDonalds stop cutting checks the board of FIFA will have to do something to save face
the way they treat unionised workers in columbia does tho
There was never any real evidence for the death squad accusations, and Coca-Cola only operates bottling plants in the region. Their suppliers in the Colombia region are regional contractors, independently owned businesses with supply contracts to the Coca-Cola company. Companies aren't responsible for the actions of their suppliers, although they have a moral responsibility to choose ones that respect their employees. Problem is, there aren't that many companies in Colombia that do.
So they have a moral responsibility to choose ones that respect their employees and then proceeded to not do that?
They do. At the same time, they're constrained by what the market provides. If none of the suppliers care about their employees, you still need suppliers. There's no easy solution.
So they have a moral responsibility to choose ones that respect their employees and then proceeded to not do that?
You make it sound so easy and binary to accomplish.
Giant corporation trying to look like its innocent. Typical....
IDK, Coca Cola is pretty cool. They just straight up admit yo our drink dissolved fucking mice so what
But are instead completely guilty of....?
well, basic monopoly shit for example? there was this drink being sold locally in the north of brazil, and apparently coca cola started lowering their prices over there to the point where the local company had no choice but to sell it to them or so i hear, i never bothered to look up how much of it is true. but the drink is now being sold all over brazil with coca cola's brand on it
But are instead completely guilty of....?
Being involved with the funding of anti-left guerillas in South America which usually formed kill squads to attack farmer villages that were making caffeine.
Could we get sources on these kinds of things so we can at least read about them
Could we get sources on these kinds of things so we can at least read about them
Only sites I find about these alleged death squads are on columbian news sites and pretty anti-corporate sites.
That's what I keep running into, which is why I ask.
Man, I hope they do withdraw their funding. FIFA's bloated and corrupt and it'll stay that way until they can see that their shittiness has consequences.
Giant corporation trying to look like its innocent. Typical....
Hurrr durr every corporation is evil amirite?
