• Want a Better Sound System

Er, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I was wondering if I could get a better sound system for listening to music on my computer other than my two shoddy USB speakers. Not looking to spend too much, ~$100ish. If that's too small of a budget, please let me know. Thanks!
sound card with better speakers is your best bet, i don't know where you can find any and i'm too damned lazy to look for one
Well has anyone got any recommendations?
I've heard good things about Logitech's Z series more specifically this one http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=logitech+z2300&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=8079947046000779300&ei=BFo-TayBM8zegQervNyKCQ&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CFgQ8wIwAA#
You say sound system, not speakers. So I'm going to suggest headphones. BAM http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD555-Professional-Headphones-Channeling/dp/B0001FTVDQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1295934079&sr=8-1
For your budget headphones would be best. If you budget was like $200 I would say get a nice set of Stereo monitors possibly with a sub. They don't make 5.1 systems with the same quality as 2.1 systems. Make sure they are at least 5-inch woofer with 1-1.5-inch tweeters. Lets just say that doesn't have anything on The HD555 are very good headphones, definitely recommend at your price range. Might also want to look into the Sennheiser HD280 pro as well.
Best sound for low price would be buying a seperate amp and large cone speakers and hooking that up. This is your best bet in getting sound quality like the above poster showed for a low price. (Those are 200$ KRK Monitor speakers used for music editing tough)
Yesterday I bought some Phillips SPA5300 speakers. There really great and you can get them on Amazon for around £50.
Sorry, I already have headphones. I just want to listen to something without something cuffing my head, if I were further away. I'll be looking at those.
Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system, I picked mine up off of Ebay for $91.00 about a month ago.
Just find an old stereo and then use the auxiliary input and use them as speakers. It is the cheapest way to get some of the best sound.
I plug my computer into a 25 Watt stereo receiver like this: The sound quality is fantastic and the analogue volume and tone controls are a real treat.
Are you sure you don't want the best sound system?
of course he wants the best sound system for a hundred bucks

I replaced the speakers though with some sony ss-d201s which I got at a yard sale.

I really love this system for not only clear sound but also the sub is pretty powerful.
This is what I have Logitech Z313 The sound quality is amazing for its price

The logitech system in the photo has a 5.25" subwoofer, a valid comparison if you ask me. The enclosure design on them KRKs puts the logitechs to shame. Not that'd I'd choose KRK myself for my home studio. They are designed for different purposes.

Pioneer SX-6000
I just have a 5.1 Targa DVD player and two Wharfdale diamonds with an Arena subwoofer. Also my Trust USB headset which is awesome.
May I ask what receiver that is or is that just a random picture?
It says its a Pioneer SX-6000 right on the front. [editline]28th January 2011[/editline] Also, I got these for free. I have logitech Z-5500's. They are pretty decent.

M-AUDIO AV30 is master race
AV40 owner here: they aren't that great and I really wish that I had skipped them and got something a bit higher up.
are you the guy that didn't raise them up and then critiqued them? you see so many people with av30/40s that are lying on the desk nowhere near ear level av30 is better price/performance
