I decided to try and use up all 8GB of my RAM, It took me like an hour to take a screenshot of my task manager.

Thought someone would think it's funny.

You can clearly see from the screenshot that it is.

No it isn't, that's the basic theme.
Yeah, aero is off. His PC would have exploded if it was on.
Show us all the programs that are open...
...actually, you probebly just ran Crysis about 7 separate times...
Dear OP,
Were waiting for the list of programs.

The basic theme is aero when DWM is off. If he was using Win Classic then he wouldn't be using aero.

I assume he tried to run many different programs at the same time, and some programs automatically disable it when you run them.

This thread turned into a combo...
You can do that with Prime95 I think. Just set the amount of ram to use to over 9000.
Get outta there, it's gonna blow!
What did you do to use it all?
How to use up all your ram:
Start up UDK, then open one of the levels created by Epic Games such as one of the CTF maps, select "production quality" for the rendering, hit build all. Now watch as your ram gets eaten up like hell.
I did this and the computer gave up half way as soon as the ram hit 4gb/4gb and crashed. I wonder how this would fare with larger amounts of ram.
It would have saved you some time if you simply create a large ramdisk
or make a 8192x8192 image in paint.net and re-size to 200 percent,
i learned the hard way

Doesn't that more effect the CPU ?
Until the image starts getting dumped back into the RAM, sure.

Well it results in a 256MP image, and you need at least 3 bytes per pixel to store the image data (8bits each for red, green and blue channels, possibly also alpha channel). You quickly end up with nearly a gigabyte of data.
