Brave New World By Aldous Huxley
It's a hilarious book, a really nice read after I watched Brazil, which is kinda on the same tone and stuff.
The God Delusion.
I can almost sense the austismal fedora-wearing accusations from people, but Richard Dawkins is actually a pretty good author.

If you really have to read a book called "The God Delusion" to fully realize what God is, then I don't know what to tell you. (Hint: It's simple. God is a product of the human mind, and the most powerful fictional character of all. Basically.)
Hell, I haven't even read that book but in the end God is irrelevant in itself, so if the book only focuses on that then it sounds rather pointless. And religiousness is mostly about being a good human.

This is a pretty nice book, too bad it's only like 100 pages long.
This book is amazing.

Zones of Alienation: Southern Comfort, though I'm going back and forth between that and Broca's Brain.

I saw the end of series 3 though on TV and the [sp]red wedding[/sp] is kind of offputting because SPOILER: [sp]what's left of the Starks are mostly killed[/sp], making the book seem futile since they're [sp]mostly the only likeable people[/sp].
This thread.
Well for now I'm reading physics of the impossible- michio kaku

Quite interesting stuff.
I need to start reading Dark Tower V: Wolves of the Calla again.
I read 1-3 really quickly, especially The Wastelands. Then Wizard and Glass ruined everything. It took me about a year as Susan really irritated me. There's a bit where we don't hear about her for ages, and I sped through that thinking "Why haven't I finished this yet? This is really good" then she came back, and I remembered. By the time I finished, I'd just kind of lost interested.

I got bored of it. Meh

Bougt the Gift (first book) but didn't buy the rest cause the shop was closing down and they were pretty expensive.
After I finished reading the Gift I was craving for more so I bought the whole set online (including the gift again) for the price of 2 books in the store earlier. Currently still waiting for the books to arrive, hopefully by this week.
Anathem by Neal Stephenson. If my library had a different selection I probably wouldn't have gotten it, but I'm really liking it so far.

I've read the first two, I found them absolutely terrible. Like wow, why did this become so well known.
After reading some actually good fantasy books, this was almost painful.
Anyway, the last book I read was Farenheit 451:

Pretty good book.
I'm not reading anything at the moment, but I bought the first two books of Asimov's Foundation:

I've heard good things about those, and they seem to be staples of the SF genre, so I picked them up. I'll probably start reading them soon.
By the way, if anyone is looking for a good book, and if you haven't read it already, do pick up Keye's Flowers for Algernon:

It's easily one of the best books I've ever read, and everyone can and should read it.
Be warned, there are feels to be felt.

Yeh. I liked them as a kid and a friend queried if I would recommend them to him, I did. After reading the first on he questioned me, and we read some from the next book. Not as great as I remembered.
About to start reading

Oh yeah I can definitely see how you can like them as a kid. They aren't actually terrible of course, and you can still get into the story.

WWZ is great, I haven't seen the movie yet but based on my understanding of it they missed the point entirely. I'd love to see a movie done about zombies in a retrospective, documentary style.
TGSOE is also pretty good. It's a little drier than some of Dawkins' other books, and it's no Blind Watchmaker or Climbing Mount Improbable but i'm enjoying it all the same.
I just realized that I don't read for shit.
The only book series I genuinely enjoyed so much I couldn't put it down was A Song of Ice and Fire, of which I am reading A Feast for Crows.
Every other book I have read so far just bores me to fucking tears.
most people who start off reading need to get into the flow of reading, before it becomes natually. don't give up :)

Directly translated to The Devils Apprentice. I can't get enough of the book.

Reading these for the 2nd time, on A Feast for Crows now.
I love these books so much...
I'm thinking I might re-read Mogworld

The people who post that they're reading A Game of Thrones, it's a bit pointless tbh, seeing as everyone and their uncle is reading GoT.
As for me, I'm trying to find a new book to read. Using this thread for inspiration. I'm reading New Spring (WoT series) at the moment and I'm finding the book very bland. Hoping it'll pick up soon. I've got The Eye of The World sitting on my shelf waiting to be read after this.
Can someone save me and let me know if New Spring gets better? Right now I'm forcing myself on, page by boring page. I'm really not interested with Aes Sedai crap.
I really want to read The Runelords series again, fucking fantastic series that. Absolutely loved every page, every character, every battle. Some really interesting and unique concepts, and the magic system is beautifully intrinsic.

Read this series if you haven't already, it's absolutely mind-blowing.
