I mean otherwise nobody would buy it so good for them. They should know the Windows Phone approach doesn't work.

If the tracking here is even remotely comparable to Oculus's, let alone the Vive, this will be a major benefit to the VR market.
Is that $299 a typo? I've only seen $399 so far.

Article says $299 headsets and $399 headset with controllers bundles, so I would guess you can buy a headset without the motion controllers if you just want to use it with a normal controller.

Those specs are great. But I'm a bit disappointed that they don't have eyetracking.

Why? None of the current VR headsets do.

It's going to be an important feature to reduce the hardware requirements for vr.
But I guess it's way too early for this to reach the mainstream, the eyetracking upgrade kit for the vive is $220

So you are upset that a $300 headset doesnt have a feature that costs 2/3 of that to add to a more premium product?
This is certainly a cool feature, but not something that can be expected in entry level equipment.

I had no idea how expensive the tech was, I checked that just now. I'm not upset over it and I didn't really expect these headsets to have that feature. I just hoped that eyetracking would be in the 1st gen of mainstream headsets.
