First Big Brother now big momma.
A terminally ill patient is being sought to donate their body to be mummified for a Channel 4 TV show. The programme will explore the mysteries of ancient Egyptian embalming, which was believed would help people reach the afterlife. Adverts have been placed asking for dying patients interested in participating to get in touch. Channel 4 said: "If the scientists are able to find a donor, we would be willing to follow the process." It is understood the project - which has been proposed by production company Fulcrum TV - is in its very early stages and may not actually be made. The idea was uncovered when an executive producer from Fulcrum TV, Richard Belfield, spoke to an undercover journalist posing as a possible volunteer. He was quoted as saying it had been suggested - although it was not obligatory - that the body be placed in a museum exhibition to enable people to understand the mummification process. It is not the first time Channel 4 has tackled the subject of death and the human body. In 2002, the first public autopsy in the UK for 170 years was broadcast on the channel.
Channel 4 are hoping to have this issue rapped up by the summer.
I was confused at first becuase i live in America and thought of channel 4 like a local news station and not the major channel 4 tv channel over there. then i saw uk and bbc news and i was like oh there we go. It's kinda cool though how they are gunna mummify someone in todays world.
What the fuck. [editline]09:14PM[/editline] Is there even a point beyond shock value.
Not quite sure why, but I'd feel rather uncomfortable donating my body to be mummified, especially for a show that may not even be made.
It'll have the same appeal as those shitty 'documentaries' about horrifically deformed people [editline]09:19PM[/editline] i'd watch it.
i want to be a mummy i would be so cool then i would raise from the dead and walk like a mummy but i wont have a brain so i will not know whats going on.l i hope i get a scarab on my chest and a sarcofaguse
Channel 4 is fucking crazy, seriously they do wacky stuff like this all the time. Gotta love 'em.
They also want to crash a plane in to the desert, for "scientific reasons"

If I was terminally ill, this is probably the last thing I would want to be asked.
Channel 4 does not want it is Mummy. It wants its Mummy. Silly grammar
There the reason I pay TV Taxes. :britain:
Actually, that's just for the BBC, and the reason pay that is because there are no adverts on.
Not quite sure why, but I'd feel rather uncomfortable donating my body to be mummified, especially for a show that may not even be made.
I would rather my body be donated rather than mummified. I would rather be put to use after death rather than just be entertainment.
