I'm kind of interested in liquid cooling, but not interested or rich enough to buy a more complicated system. Does the H50 (or H70) work well, or would I be wasting my money?
It's awesome. Do a push/pull configureation if you wanna go past 4GHz. The H50 is defineatly the best for the price but if you where buying a H70 you can do better.
I've got a push/pull config on a h50. It's cooling an Intel E8500 @ 4.2 GHz 1.4 volts. Doesn't exceed 60 degrees. Now that's something.
So how quiet are the fans on the H70?
They are good, but for the money, an good airflow CPU cooler is clearly better (CoolerMaster 212 +, Scythe Mugen II, etc...)
I don't think the HAF 932 can fit the 212+ (which I would buy) without at least removing the side fan. The V8 barely fits as it is, and it's 38-odd mm shorter.

I have a HAF 932 and I'm using the 212+ on my Phenom II X4 955. Fits just fine.

Yeah it should fit
I heard the new Xigmatek Balder SD1283 was very good and for less than 40$/€
Ok, so the 212+ fits. I guess it's narrow enough to fit above the side fan. What non-shady online store has the best price for it?
Hyper 212+ will easily fit HAF932
I heard somewhere (maybe on FP) that OCZ Freeze is a better thermal grease then AS5. Something about not needing a break-in period. Is that true?
Just use artic cooling MX-3
