HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -- Henry County police said Monday a teenager killed by a gunshot wound to the head did not pull the trigger himself. Officers said they were called to a home in Locust Grove on Saturday night where they discovered a 16-year-old boy dead. Investigators told Channel 2 Action News that two juveniles had run away from home and were staying in the house without permission for the past week. The two teenagers, along with a third, were pointing what they believed was an unloaded shotgun at each other and pulling the trigger when the gun discharged, striking the boy in the head. Police said the other boys reported the shooting to the victim’s parents and said the gunshot was self-inflicted. Henry County investigators later took the two juveniles into custody. They are charged with involuntary manslaughter. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported a Facebook group created to honor the victim identified the boy as Brian Keith Comer, a student at Ola High School in McDonough.
Source: http://www.wsbtv.com/news/28222471/detail.html I didn't know him personally but a lot of my other friends did... :smith:
"The two teenagers, along with a third, were pointing what they believed was an unloaded shotgun at each other and pulling the trigger when the gun discharged" Wow what
No offense, but how stupid can you be. How in their right mind, loaded or not. Starts points a gun at each other and more-so PULLING THE TRIGGER.
Yeah, it wasn't very smart. Now look what happened.
Nevermind. Kid got what was coming to him for being so goddamn stupid. The other two should have known better as well.
How the fuck could you just find a gun, randomly aim and shoot it? Seriously how can someone be that stupid.
Yeah.... our school isn't known for its common sense
are school
I couldn't tell.
Yeah.... are school isn't known for its common sense
are
 It had to be when I said that too didn't it?
Yeah.... our school isn't known for its common sense
Its both scary and enraging to know people will leave their guns in easy to find places like that.
How the fuck could you just find a gun, randomly aim and shoot it? Seriously how can someone be that stupid.
At least check to see if it's loaded before you start pointing it at people and pulling the trigger. Then again, it's a good way to weed out morons. Like putting a dose of chlorine into the gene pool. Does this constitute a Darwin Award?
Wow, this kind of stuff always seemed funnier when it didn't happen too people around me.
Seeing someone getting shot in the head isn't anything pretty to see. Also i bet that those kids got traumatized for life time.
Reminds me of this
Hopefully next time, they won't pull the trigger.
This happened to one of my mom's friend's sons. They were walking around, and one of the guys in the group pulled out a pistol and started waving it around, and then pointed it at the kid and shot him in the head "on accident" and dumped his body outside the hospital and sped off. Only got like, a year in jail and probation for it.
Hopefully next time, they won't pull the trigger.
You're not even supposed to point it at anyone in the first place, regardless of wether it's loaded or not. Basic firearm safety.
Seeing someone getting shot in the head isn't anything pretty to see. Also i bet that those kids got traumatized for life time.
Its the price to pay. Too bad there's still potential for it to happen again.
When are people going to get their shit together. There are so many things that could have been done to prevent this from happening.
Really? No debates over gun control yet? You disappoint me Facepunch
I'm amazed that a kid growing up in a country like America would be so dumb as to not even check if a gun was loaded before doing stupid shit like that. I must admit, when I read things like this I can't help but wonder if it was an accident, are people really that stupid? Even living in a country where guns are pretty much banned I still know basics from movies and common sense...
Natural Selection at work gentlemen... (In a sense of Intelligence) But really though, that does suck.
Kids are stupid. All kids are stupid at least some point in their life. Some just get unlucky. Bill Gates was arrested for driving without a license, that was stupid, but you don't see people saying he deserved to die for it. Sure, it's a different situation but it's relevant.
Damn. Why was there a loaded shotgun just lying around in the house, much less in a unsecured area? That's almost as stupid as pointing a gun at your head.
Similar incident almost happened to my dad when he was a kid. His friend, "Bull", found his father's shotgun and decided to point it at my dad's face. He almost pulled the trigger, but my dad made such a fuss about it that Bull said something along the lines of "Oh, you big baby, it's not even loaded!" He then looked in the chamber to show my dad, revealing it to be fully loaded.
I agree with you, but you're comparing Bill Gates driving without a license to kids pointing a shotgun at each other. Sure, both can kill you... But a fucking shotgun That's a whole different level of stupid when you think for a second that pointing a shotgun at you or someone else and pulling the trigger thinking nothing will happen, is a good idea. I'm also not implying that the kid deserved to die, but you can't help but think "why?"
Good point. Oh and I have another story like this! When my dad was a teenager, he went to a friend's house that recently went hunting, so the guy pulls out his .308 hunting rifle and was like "Dude I shot at this deer and it was like *bang*", pulling the trigger of the still-loaded rifle, which put a hole through 3 walls.
Gun violence is ridiculous in America. We don't need to be carrying around guns when we have cops around us, but our amendments guarantee the right to keep weapons. What a quandary over something that we don't need.

If someone pulls a gun on you, a cop isn't going to come around a corner and bust him, or even shoot him. They generally can only engage when absolutely necessary, while you can claim self defense if you shoot the person.

Across the country with millions of people living here of course these stories will come up but what're the odds of you getting shot in your entire lifetime realistically of living here? Slim to none.
