While concrete plans for the system's online functionality have yet to be fully detailed, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime made it sound like it'll be left entirely up to individual publishers in an interview with Forbes. Nintendo is "creating a much more flexible system," Fils-Aime said, "that will allow the best approaches by independent publishers to come to bear. So instead of a situation where a publisher has their own network and wants that to be the predominant platform, and having arguments with platform holders, we're going to welcome that. We're going to welcome that from the best and the brightest of the third party publishers." He said that Nintendo's system would be an "extremely robust online experience," but deferred to publishers regarding specifics. However, during the Ubisoft/Nintendo developer roundtable at E3, Ubisoft continually deferred to Nintendo. We hope this isn't how the actual development of the service is going.
TL;DR Lets Say Valve wants to follow it's curiousity and makes a game on the Wii U, Nintendo will be all thumbs up if they want to throw steam on their game.
Gabe must be all wet right now.
Gabe must be all wet right now.
Nope. Only food does that to him
Nope. Only food does that to him
I thought liquids make you wet.
Nope. Only food does that to him
It's funny because gabe is fat!!!11 your a creative genius :downs:
All the more reason to look forward to Smash Brothers.
Thinking about it, I have to wonder if this is that good.. having 100 different online platforms for every different publisher out there doesnt sound very streamlined or secure to me.
It's funny because gabe is fat!!!11 your a creative genius :downs:
Lets face it, fat people are comedy gold. I was on the tram last week and i saw a woman that was so fat she had to wait until the tram was stopping so she could harness her own inertia to help her stand up.
Battalion Wars III please.
I just hope that Gabe and Valve won't lose sight of their roots with Half-Life. Oh, wait...
It seems to me that nintendo has been going down hill since 1995.
;30933614']It seems to me that nintendo has been going down hill since 1995.
They haven't been going down hill, you've just been falling through a fourth spacial dimension causing everything from your perspective to appear to be moving further away.
;30933614']It seems to me that nintendo has been going down hill since 1995.
I think you should've saved that statement for a negative news article about Nintendo.
;30933614']It seems to me that nintendo has been going down hill since 1995.
Did you miss the part where they had the most successful console and game ever made (Wii and Wii Sports)? And I mean by how well they sold, there's been almost twice as many Wii consoles sold than the Xbox 360 and PS3 sales combined.
Nope. Only food does that to him
I never laughed at a Gabe joke ever in my life because I thought they were tasteless. I had my hand on my head right over my keyboard and I fucking shot snot out of my nose all over the keyboard. Good job.
This is why Im trying to stop supporting microsoft. Also this should really help get nintendo some 3rd party support. It looks like nintendo is really trying to bring back there hard core fans.
This is why Im trying to stop supporting microsoft.
windows
windows
I meant when it came to consoles.
I meant when it came to consoles.
then your supporting microsoft in some form
Ok so exactly the opposite of most consoles then. Good.
;30933614']It seems to me that nintendo has been going down hill since 1995.
"Nintendo makes something flexible" "Ok wow thats such a terrible idea" It seems to me that [sluggo] has been going down hill since 2010. I may not fully support the Wii but god damn, I respect Nintendo out of all the other consoles. They more than deserved it.
then your supporting microsoft in some form
Well yea I don't mind supporting them when it comes to operating systems I just don't want them dominating hardcore gaming.
;30933614']It seems to me that nintendo has been going down hill since 1995.
I'm sorry, but one of the greatest gaming systems ever, the Nintendo 64, wasn't even out at that time. I'd say they went uphill.
Nintendo was always on the right track I enjoy my Wii, Gamecube and DS. Its that people don't know how to make games for the Wii and DS which causes everyone to think its shit.
For some reason when I read the title I thought the controller screen thing was flexible and would not break if someone were to slam it into a wall in frustration or something. But this is nice too.
All the more reason to look forward to Smash Brothers.
It won't be the same without Gamecube Controllers :(
It won't be the same without Gamecube Controllers :(
Im not sure but I think I remember hearing you can put game cube controllers on it but not games.
Nope. Only food does that to him
But he'll get money. You can get food for money.
Im not sure but I think I remember hearing you can put game cube controllers on it but not games.
If this is true, then I'm still excited. I can't imagine playing with those "classic" controllers though :(
Im not sure but I think I remember hearing you can put game cube controllers on it but not games.
nope http://www.gamepolitics.com/2011/06/08/wii-u-dumps-gamecube-controller-amp-game-support
nope http://www.gamepolitics.com/2011/06/08/wii-u-dumps-gamecube-controller-amp-game-support
WHYYYYYY
