Some of you may have noticed the hype over Google's upcoming 'Google Phone', the Nexus One.
I have been planning on buying a Android phone for a while now, and was on the verge of buying a HTC Hero, until I discovered this:

Set to sold by Google on January 1st and be offered by T-mobile on January 5th, this phone isn't too far away.
I certainly can't wait to get my hands on one, what I have heard about it so far seems simply amazing.
The interesting thing is that Google will sell the phone directly to the consumers instead of channelling it through providers (though they will still offer it on top of this).
The phone itself is manufactured by HTC, and it seems to be the HTC Passion/Dragon under the hood, though on the software/OS side it may be different.
Specifications wise, it is pretty shocking:
- 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor (including a powerful graphics chip along side).
- 800 x 480 3.7 inch AMOLED screen.
- 5 mega pixel camera with flash.
- Android 2.1.
- 1400 mAh battery.

Like with the other so called 'Google Phones' (The Dev Phone 1 and the Ion), it has been handed out to employees to test. Inevitably, information about the phone has been leaked by these employees.
Many of them are reporting it as a iPhone killer or a 'iPhone on steriods, one of them also wrote a hands-on blog article on it which has caused a lot of buzz:
Personally, I can't wait to find out more about this phone, I will make sure to pick one up in January if the reviews seem positive. I will try to update this as more information comes in, but this is all for now.

In comparison to the other Android phones the camera isn't too bad, it is even rumoured to have 720p video recording.

5 minute preview of nexus one, wow.
The camera sucks tbh, but that doesn't really matter. If they're not too expensive (as much as the iphone) I might get one.
I'd be more interested in this if it didn't look so bland. Doesn't really look very flashy. Also the UK/EU version must have multitouch like other Android phones or I defo won't get one
holy shit, 1ghz?
sad that it wont be affordable for me, unless its like 150€
It's said to cost $200(140 Euros), though since that is a rumor I can't confirm it.

Is that the T-mobile version or the completely unlocked version?
I'll see if I can pick one up as "birthday gift" to myself. :3:

Hah I have a birthday gift every month as soon as I get my wages.
We have 1 ghz on a phone already? I remember the days when I dreamed about when they'll ever be bringing out a 1 ghz cpu for home pcs

my first pc had a 400mhz processor :(
my first pc had a 133mhz processor. the last big release that ran on it was half-life 1 using software rendering. in 512x384.
A 1 GHZ processor and a 5 MP camera?
Shit, I want one.
I heard that they may lower the price, under the conditions that you watch ads or something along those lines.
It would be very much like buying a phone w/ or w/o a plan.
Jesus fuck. 1GHz...

Damn and i just bought a Teclast T51... Will this have something similar to iphone apps?
Get the Droid if you're open to different carriers, you honestly want something with a keyboard/multitouch capabilities. Also what's the point of having a 1ghz processor right now? Give it a few years and then it might be utilized properly...
Wait, so something has already outdone the Droid? Does that mean I should wait a bit before getting it, even though I don't plan on switching plans?

For twice the money? :-/

The Android market is pretty big as it stands (though not as big as the iPhones), and I would say better quality, especially on the free side of it.
For twice the money? :-/
Yeah, because it's worth it.
Please be under £150!
Wait, so something has already outdone the Droid? Does that mean I should wait a bit before getting it, even though I don't plan on switching plans?
This thing hasn't outdone the Droid in any way except for processing speed, which is useless as of right now. I don't see why in the fucking hell someone needs a 1ghz processor in a phone right now.
If you buy the Nexus, be prepared to sacrifice the keyboard/camera quality. If that doesn't mean anything to you, then by all means, go make your purchase.
It will cost $1,000

It's Fox, and after reading all the information I can find about this phone I have found nothing hinting that price.
The Nexus One will most likely be around 300-400 dollars because it isn't under contract/locked, which will appeal to alot of people in the US.
Phone looks sweet, I've always wanted a decent Android phone. The only thing that is keeping me back is AT&T.
I will be running a server on that shit, rawr.
Some companies deliver Turbo 3G with unlimited bandwidth here in sweden <3
I see no source of a launch date, how can you "assume" it's being sold January 1st?
I might get this, but sprint is a bitch to do anything on.

This isn't a CDMA phone.
HSDPA/HSUPA <3
Lol @ the one who voted me bad spelling.
HSDPA and HSUPA are both correct.
