I thought this belonged in the technical support area, but I think this might be a quick fix/solution, sorry if I'm wrong. I just bought a HDMI cable, and I plugged it into my TV and to the back of my computer. My computer has a HDMI plug, which I've circled in the picture, but it isn't located in the GPU. I currently run dual monitors and I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I can't make anything appear on the TV. Do I need some sort of software in able to make anything appear on the screen? It just says "No signal" atm.
I have those on my computer too(ones not connected to my Graphics card) and I'll try em out once I get home from school in an hour to check if I'll get the same problem. Ehh, since you fixed the problem I'm not gonna bother.
It's because your PC is using the GFX card and not the onboard graphics.
It's because your PC is using the GFX card and not the onboard graphics.
Yeah that's what I thought. So, is there anything I can do? I mean so it still shows my dual monitors but the TV aswell.
Get a graphics card with 3 Outputs, 2 x DVI and 1 x HDMI? They're only about £90.
Ok, I'll just go return the cable to the store.
You just need a DVI-to-HDMI cable.
yea the technical support forum wouldve been your best bet, but I guess its all good now, the problem is solved. btw Im not being a douche saying this post was in the wrong forum lol just stating that bc some people get majorly butthurt over it.
doesn't the TV have a VGA port
doesn't the TV have a VGA port
Yeah it does, but I want the TV to show either my left or right monitor. I don't want to sacrifice double montiors to be able to see stuff on my TV.
You just need a DVI-to-HDMI cable.
Maybe he wants sound?
Maybe he wants sound?
Well, I just use my PC speakers. I'm not really sure how one would get sound through HDMI by plugging it into a video card.
