• GPU crashes everytime i open a 3d game.

So about 1-2 months ago my motherboard died and before i even thought about the mobo i RMAed my GPU thinking that was the problem. After getting a new GPU and realizing that it wasn't the problem i got a new mobo and my PC was up and running again, anyways once everything was stable i decided to play some Mount and Blade and when i got in-game my driver instantly crashed and recovered and continued to do so until i closed the game . i tested it out with multiple games and it only appeared to happen to 3D games and randomly while i was just sitting on Firefox (any 2D games like Terraria or binding of Issac etc. worked fine). So after searching for a fix i found that underclocking my GPU seemed to fix the problem and that was that. Then literally 2 weeks since my PC was repaired it broke again (this time it being the cheap ram i was using), after getting some new ram and making sure everything was stable i tried playing some Dayz with a few friends (still underclocking my GPU) and after about 4-5 minutes in my GPU starts crashing and recovering, I tried multiple games but it did the same thing. so now I'm completely stumped on what the problem is. Heres my specs Win 7 64x AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 2936MHz GeForce GTX 560 (EVGA) Apologizes on any grammar problems or ignorance in the subject.
Can i have the specs of your PSU as well?, can you be more specific on your GPU "crashing" does your PC turns off or loads up BSOD(blue screen of death)

I assume you haven't updated your drivers yet?
Change power mode in the nvidia control panel to 'maximum performance' from 'adaptive' then see if it still crashes, not sure if its been fixed in the latest drivers but a lot of people had this same problem until they done the above.
I have my drivers updated i just screencapped that early on and yes ive already tried that xianlee, that you for the suggestion though

I had the same thing on my system and it was my CPU not getting enough voltage to feed the overclock if not then its either a heat problem or PSU problem if none of those I'm clueless
Everything is factory clocked aside from me underclocking the GPU, after my mobo broke Ive monitored my temps heavily so it shouldn't be that. Any way to check for PSU problems?
Check your temps while launching a game, my card was doing this too, my gpu crashes even in simple games due to overheating, but by the time I checked the temps after the crash they were fine. I started my game and watch the temps skyrocket until it crashed again. My only temporary workaround is a bolted on external fan and overclocking the cards fan to 100% until I can get a new card I've also reduced voltage by 20% and turned down every possible setting, still happened, it's an issue with my card, potentially yours as well
My temps while launching are stable, thanks for the suggestion though. [editline]6th December 2012[/editline] Just found out that its not the underclock failing its the underclock going back up to default setting when i go ingame, still can do anything about it though

I know your system can be unstable if certain parts demand more power and you PSU can't give it.
