The Knights of Badassdom
Directed by Joe Lynch, the movie is described as Shaun of the Dead meets Role Models.
Story:
A huge group of dedicated, costumed LARPers (Live Action Role Players), dressed like knights, elves and various characters, give up their cell phones and take to the woods for the Central New Jersey Knights of Badassdom Adventure Society, where they are set to re-enact a dungeons and dragons scenario right out of the mythical Middle Ages. After being dumped by his sexy girlfriend Beth, Joe reluctantly decides to join Eric and his LARPing friends in the woods rather than stay behind and feel sorry for his newly single status. There he meets hot, ass-kicking, intimidating huntress LARPer Gwen, and finds himself a surreal adventure wilder than he ever imagined when a make-believe wizard casts an all-too-real spell from an ancient spellbook he bought on Ebay, releasing an actual demon with a taste for human blood -- and souls -- that starts systematically decimating the players in this suddenly deadly "game."

What's so special about this movie, lil_n00blett?
It's being shot in Spokane, Washington, and the developers are working with the Alliance LARP organization to get local LARPers to star as extras in the film. Being from Oregon, and being a member of Alliance LARP, I sent in my information to the woman doing the casting call, and she'll be giving me a call to tell me what dates to go in for shooting.
Which means you'll see this guy somewhere in the background of this awesome movie:

The first guy is a midget. Hilarious.
How do you not get "Peter Dinklage"?
It sounds like a pet name for someone's dick.
Haha, your in LARP.
Haha, your in LARP.
Oh dear lord, I totally missed that part. I hope he knows he's being heavily judged.
Haha, you're a LARPer.
Fixed. And yes, I am. I make no claim that it's not nerdy, but damn, it's fucking fun.

Idk, it seems kind of like playing with Army men or the Sims. It's like you set everything up, but it's boring as shit once you actually start doing things.
Like "Oh no, you touched me with your sword". How do they keep tabs of who's been killed or not, I don't get it. And like, can you revive people with potions or something? I don't understand how they keep things like that under control.

A lot of it is honor system. If you think somebody's been standing for way too long and he should have definitely been downed by now, and you ask him and he refuses to show you his card or something with his health, then get a game marshall to sort it out. People almost never cheat at the LARPs I go to, everybody's really chill about everything, there's no reason to cheat.
With Alliance LARP, when you get hit enough to where you get 0 health, you're unconscious and you go down. If you're KO'd for 10 minutes, you die and you have to go to an earth circle to get resurrected. However, usually a healer will have cast a spell or something to bring you back up to above 0 health so that you can at least run away.
... Oh.
Wow, sounds really fun. I don't know the Larp world but I am a fan of Douglas Tait's work from Star Trek. I like the cast they got also.
Am I the only person who thought this was a Badage Boys thread at first? Look at the pictures, even the descriptions seem hilariously unhinged.
