Call me stupid, but are there actually any new features? Sounds like they just remade Horizon 2 in Australia
PC has really needed a game like this. We've only had pieces of shit like the crew, nfs, and tdu2. I think the last best type of game like this was the original Test Drive Unlimited, simply because it had a handling mode that was actually realistic (bar the moon gravity..wtf) and one of the firsts of its kind, pc and console alike.
I liked Horizon 2 in spite of itself; I was disappointed it was nothing like Motorsport but I enjoyed it the same way I enjoyed TDU2. It's not as though FM is coming to PC any time soon so I might as well get this game ju-
As such, it's only available on Windows 10 through the Windows Store.
Lol get over yourself.
This is the norm now. Get used to it. Don't like it? Don't buy it.

Get off the bandwagon, nothing wrong with Windows 10.

I'm not bemoaning Windows 10, it's fine by all accounts, just exclusivity to yet another distribution platform no one asked for.

You should be happy Microsoft is even putting these games on Windows 10 in the first place instead of being Xbox One exclusive.

Forgive me if I'm not thrilled at the prospect of putting money into Games For Windows Live II: This Time Will Be Different

Except that the W10 store barely even counts as a distribution platform. It's built into W10 so if you're actually signed into your account (which you will be if you have it set up), you literally don't have to do anything other than type the game name into your start menu.

yeah it is different because there's no parallels to draw but I see you're not concerned about that
Wasn't this supposed to be free but restricted on PC or am I confusing this with something else?

Apex.

Uhm, do you also have an issue with uPlay, Bethesda launcher, Epic Games launcher, Hi-rez launcher, Origin too?
I kind of want to get this game since it has STIs that aren't the ugly stink eye or the boring evo eye

Oh hey someone doesn't know what the Windows Store is
Theres literally nothing wrong with the store or UWP or windows 10. People need to remove their heads from up windows 7 and steam's ass.
Uhm, do you also have an issue with uPlay, Bethesda launcher, Epic Games launcher, Hi-rez launcher, Origin too?
Yes. Each progressively less subtle advertisement software I have to download to play a game I bought and paid for elsewhere is a little more onerous.

I will openly admit I have no experience with the Windows Store at all, but if it's an application Microsoft uses to sell or manage exclusively licensed software then I feel like I've heard this joke before and the punchline was it just stopped working.
Good more raccing games on pc please

It's not even an application. It's just a built-in part of W10 in the same way windows explorer or a calculator is.

Pretty sure it fits the definition of application.
'a program or piece of software designed and written to fulfill a particular purpose of the user.'

I mean technically, yeah, but I don't think that's what he was trying to say.

Without getting overly semantic I'd call either of those things applications, but beyond that there's surely an online service component to it - is that something I can count on Microsoft not to switch off one day or make nightmarish to use when they want to sell me whatever their next implementation of the concept is? Obviously that's a risk with any software platform, I just can't remember having used any of them not made by Microsoft that have actually done so.
Just FYI, the PC port is pretty iffy as of right now, unless you lock it to 30FPS it will stutter like crazy on many systems (mine included). I'd recommend anyone thinking of buying it to wait until it's been confirmed that it's fixed

Well, there was really only one, which was GFWL and that was abandoned because it was a colossal piece of shit that relied on a bunch of external shit to work right. The new system is all completely contained in Windows itself, so it has no reason to go down that same path.

It's a store for a game, nothing is different except it utilizing the UWP platform there's no online authentication or whatever. It's basically like steam. The DRM being the store itself.
you guys do realize that they made it w10 exclusive only to promote w10? like, there was nothing stopping them from just making it an ordinary fucking application that runs on every modern version of windows

Yeah? It's still nice that we're getting it.

It could also be to do with the fact that it's part of their Xbox Anywhere scheme, which means that buying on PC or XB1 gives you access to the game on both platforms along with integrated Xbox Live support for seamless cross platform play.
