The details might be a bit sketchy right now, since the source is translated from Japanese.
In the past, we have announced new titles at Investor's Meetings and then uploaded videos onto the internet, but with new methods like Nintendo Direct, that we have now, we believe that we are able to provide more appropriate and effective information separately to people from different standpoints and interests [gamer, investor, etc.

First, we have decided not to hold a large-scale presentation where new news is presented to a general audience from all over the world as in previous years. Instead, we are planning several smaller events for software targeted at the American market.

I was expecting them to have a big Luigi booth or something.
i can see why, i mean they released the wii u a few months back, what else is there to show?
oh wait nevermind snip
I don't get it. Didn't they hype up saying 3D Mario, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros would be at E3?

Well, they have a lot of new games coming out this year.
But, they've been keeping everyone up to date in their Nintendo Directs.
I'd much rather have it that way, honestly.
-snippy snip-
There probably going to have a big Nintendo Direct covering all of there games.
oh wait nevermind snip
I'd like to see some new footage of the next Mario, some more HD Zelda, and some more LTTP2...and Pikmin 3 too but we've seen a good deal of that I believe.
They've also never really gone to Tokyo Game Shows in the past. For the past year they've been doing Nintendo Directs to show off their new games so they pretty much don't even need to have an E3 anymore. They've been using their past few E3s anyways as a way to talk about their sales to gather investor interest. If they have anything to show off, they'll just do it in a Nintendo Direct and have a small event for the press where they can play the games they're showing off.
Nintendo never confirmed any of that, It was just media/social hype.
Actually, they did confirm all of those in either a Nintendo Direct or an investor's meeting.
Maybe they'll do seperate mini-conferences for them?
Nintendo never confirmed any of that, It was just media/social hype.
Nah, pretty sure Iwata said that in a past Nintendo Direct. Mario Kart and 3D Mario would be playable on the floor, but Smash Bros. was just getting a trailer.
Nintendo Direct replaced E3 Confrences imo.
They are 1000x better then the Stockholder circlejerk festival
look at their most recent one for example:

They'll probably have a larger presence on the floor as they have a lot of playable games to show off.
That and it feels like they know that they will get streamrolled by coverage of the next-gen consoles coming out, so they're just going to do their own thing instead of trying to go up against them directly.
Can't compete with the Xbox 720 and PS4.
As long as we get announcements around that time of what is in store I'll be fine with it. I usually don't like E3 conferences anyway because they never get the point across, just flash uninteresting garbage in our face and please stock holders.

Don't start this shit in here.

The playerbases are different

full statement here.
Seems like whatever they show us it is only going to be focusing on games and not sales and that kinda crap.
Nintendo never confirmed any of that, It was just media/social hype.
Except they specifically said we were getting these games when they first revealed the Wii U.
I know that it is all speculations right now but if they do put the demos at E3 on the Nintendo eshop that would be fucking amazing.

Iwata stated in a past Nintendo Direct that they would show Mario Kart Wii U, Smash bros and a New Mario Game at E3

holy shit they're only doing what everybody cares about
Nintendo Direct is only good for existing owners of the systems, I wouldn't really call them system sellers.
If anything it'll give the idea to the mainstream gaming public that Nintendo essentially gave up.

I kinda agree with that. I mean people are going make it out like "Nintendo isnt at E3 because they dont have a good console anymore." and stuff like that
Nintendo sucks, crap console, yearly rehashes of the same old games, booooooring! Can someone just put them out of their misery now, thanks!
edit: i'm gonna enjoy the influx of dumbs. :downs:

God damn it now there will be no awkward meeting between Reggie and that Jeff fella!
My E3 streaming is ruined! RUINED I TELLS YA!!

Well last year, there was some of the demos at the european Comic Con, like Luigi's Mansion 2 or Prof. Layton and the Miracle Mask. So I'd say that's a step forward :v:
Although I would have loved to play the latest Dream Team demo. It's not like they can't release this stuff on the eShop, right?

Just like the biggest game on the other consoles, so Nintendo will do just fine.
This is probably for the best. More money to spend on the games themselves, rather than coal to feed the hype train.

Speaking of which, I want that Hype Train image. Somebody post that.
