• Tablet issue - doesn't move when hovering pen over surface unless button is pressed

Not sure how to describe it so briefly in the title, but basically the pen works, but it doesn't move unless you actually press it lightly against the surface of the tablet itself. Normally tablets would allow you to hover the pen over the surface and the pen would move, but not in this case. Not sure if it's a driver issue. It's an Aiptek Slim Tablet 600u Premium II. I read so many great reviews of it before I bought it, but right now it's not very useful at all because in its current state slightly pushing the tablet surface too hard when moving the cursor causes it to actually draw something, and that can fuck things up.
There might be some sensitivity settings somewhere in the control panel.
There is one, but no matter how I put it it's not helping with how far up the pen is hovering. Still has to be in physical contact with the board.
Still need help, guys...
Hi, in case you still need help, I can think of 2 things to try. (1) Make sure, you got the latest driver from the aiptek home page http://download.aiptek.eu/Graphic%20Tablet/Slim%20Tablet%20600u%20(Premium%20II)/SlimTablet-600u_Win-driver-5.01.zip (2) If this doesn't solve the problem, you have to calibrate your pen manually. In order to do this, you need to disassemble the pen. Take out the battery and remove the little screw next to the positive pole. If you remove the front covering carefully, you will now see the chipset of the pen. Take a look at the rotary potentiometer between the buttons (it looks like a slotted-head screw). Now you rotate the little thing with a slot screwdriver very carefully to the left and test the result after putting back the battery and the back covering (you can leave the front open, it's important to close the back covering completely for the pen to work). Just test until the pen gets recognized from a 1cm distance. I hope this will work for you as it did for me, and all other users experiencing this same problem can finally be relieved that their tablet is not broken
