Well its good to see Apple doing something about this. Although one patch isn't going to get this scareware stuff to just simply go away. I'm pretty sure the gang will add something to make the exisiting scareware to be harder to find.
i always thought it was called ransomware
Damn you gangs, go back to the streets and off my internets.

and put porn on the background so you won't ask help from other people

No no, just furry porn. That will scare anyone including the user away.
This is stupid, this isn't a solution to any problem. OSX starts getting more and more share on the OS market (sad but true) as more people have a mac OS more adware/maleware will be written, they can't sue every company or blacklist every virus.
Nearly 10 posts in and no obligatory "Macs don't have viruses"?
Good job.
Well, at least they're doing something about it. Hate these annoying things, especially when it means I have to end my browser process just to get it to go away.
I love how in that one interview about this with some apple employee (i think he was), mentions out of the blue how windows has more viruses than apple. And now i'm reading some articles about this here and there on apple oriented websites. Every time "windows" is mentioned it's some fact about how windows is bad and insecure and how apple is more secure.
now this is all mostly true, but what the fuck does windows have to do with this?
to me this is like if you paint a painting, and someone tells you it's a bad painting. then you go rambling on about how some other guy's painting is worse like an insecure (:downsrim:) twat
I think what makes this funny is the fact that apple is what "Smart" people use and is more superior, but people are falling for one of the oldest tricks in the book. Scareware has been around for a while, a lot of "anti-virus" programs that are scams do that. Then the so called "apple tech/genius people" can't fix their customers computers.
Fucking fools, all of them.
So much for apple telling their staff to neither confirm or deny this being malicious.
