GOOD. I like how the battlefield series is sticking to it's roots and starting to make good games rather than good sellers.
No shit. It's not a yearly franchise, it's bi-yearly at worst. 3 was 2011, 4 was 2013, 1 is 2016.
Hardline in 2015, BF1 in 2016.
I think Hardline is what made EA realize they should support their games a tiny bit longer BF4's extended support was ace and I can't wait to see the same happen to BF1
Hardline in 2015, BF1 in 2016.
Hardline wasn't really a mainline game, it wasn't even made by DICE.
Good, Battlefield 1 is the best Battlefield game in a looooooooong time. I'm glad it's going to be the newest and current Battlefield game for a while.
Hardline in 2015, BF1 in 2016.
I'm not including that in the same way I'm not including BFH or BFP4F. It's more of a licensed spinoff than a main series game
People are getting burned out on the annual releases anyway so I think its a better move to have a different IP take that slot for next year rather than battlefield.
well, that means they won't have an aaa/flagship/buzzword FPS game being released in 2017 so they could totally release titanfall 2 at the beginning of new year instead of doing something as silly as sandwiching the game between two actually big aaa titles' release dates dooming it to lower sales and make it seem like they want respawn to fail so they can do a take over ah shit wrong timeline, everything's terrible
Battlefield has been a Bi-yearly series since 1942, this is surprising
I think Hardline is what made EA realize they should support their games a tiny bit longer BF4's extended support was ace and I can't wait to see the same happen to BF1
I don't even like Battlefield much at this point and I can't help but marvel at the unreal amount of effort that was put into 4.
Hardline wasn't really a mainline game, it wasn't even made by DICE.
Is it worth mentioning that DICE also released Battlefront an ME:Catalyst this year If someone wants to mention that since dice didn't make the last game, they had more time to work on BF1, then the above statement could be used against it. I really wouldn't mind seeing DICE LA work on the next battlefield though
I just hope they don't do two of the same theme in a row ever again. BF3 and BF4 (you could also count BC1+2 as well but the tone and mechanics weren't really the same) both being a modern / very near future setting wasn't a good move imo, especially in a market that was already saturated with that type of setting. Battlefield works better when the newest release is quite different to the previous one imo. Given the praise BF1 got for doing something different, it seems like that rings true for a lot of people too.
