• Wisdom Teeth ruined my night

Before I begin, a little bit of background info: I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed on Wednesday, and haven't experienced any problems other than the usual swelling and dull pain. Fast forward to today... It's 8 o'clock and i'm all set to head out to my friend's house for his birthday. I don't see much of my friends anymore; everybody is graduated and busy with work and such, so it's understandable. This was going to be a reunion, of sorts. I change out of my work clothes and am ready to head out the door, when suddenly I feel my mouth start to fill with liquid with an all-too-familiar taste: blood. I go to the bathroom and drain my mouth, and am angered when I see a blood clot go down the drain. This is horseshit, I was just about to go have a good time and NOW that damn clot decides to fall out? Determined that this will not end my night, I take some gauze, fold it up, stick it in my mouth by the bleeding hole and bite down. I plop down on the couch to watch the last period of the Blackhawks/Flyers game, and pray to various deities that it will clot by the time the period ends. The Hawks win and I go to the bathroom and take out the gauze, praying for the best, but unfortunately it seems God has a deep seeded hatred for me. The bleeding starts immediately after I remove the gauze, and I am forced to put a fresh one in. This is how I was forced to spend my Saturday night on Facepunch with the rest of you degenerates. I am not impressed.
I'm sorry? Just get all your teeth pulled. Guarantee it won't happen again.
Go anyways and have blood constantly pouring out of your mouth. You will look like one badass motherfucker.
I Tivo'd the goddamned game, thanks for spoiling it.
That's rough man. Have a heart.
I Tivo'd the goddamned game, thanks for spoiling it.
You'd think when I mentioned that I sat down to watch the game, a spoiler might be on the way. Watch it regardless, was a terrific game.
They give you a pamphlet that says specifically not to rinse your mouth. My clot never fell out, but recovery took about a week.

You don't rinse your mouth for the first 24 hours, after that you are supposed to rinse with saltwater frequently.
What backwards ass clinic did you go to? You don't rinse your mouth for the first 24 hours, after that you are supposed to rinse with saltwater frequently.
A pet clinic. He can't afford a normal one. :v:
What backwards ass clinic did you go to? You don't rinse your mouth for the first 24 hours, after that you are supposed to rinse with saltwater frequently.
It creates suction in your mouth (oral jokes incoming) which inhibits the wounds ability to clot.
wooooo go blackhawks!
It creates suction in your mouth (oral jokes incoming) which inhibits the wounds ability to clot.
I appreciate this post. What I meant was that you obviously need to rinse your mouth with saltwater to keep the wounds sanitary, you're just supposed to do it lightly so the clot doesn't detach.

It's not like I tried to recreate river rapids in my mouth.
I got to keep my wisdom teeth :smug:
when i got my 4 wisdom teeth pulled the bleeding stopped after like 4 hours, sucks for you
I am getting mine pulled ASAP, because my dad waited until a couple years ago, and they had grown into his jaw bone. Recovery was a full 2 weeks of uselessness.
Haha, don't give a fuck. :unsmith:
I got my wisdom teeth removed on Thursday. I feel your pain bro.
I don't remember ever bleeding when I had mine pulled. I guess I was lucky.
sucks to be you dude
I got to keep my wisdom teeth :smug:
Some of us have wisdom to spare.
F-fuck... I'm getting mine out on the 18th of June, everyone tells me it's horrible. I start shaking every time I think about it. [editline]3[/editline] Garry will you hold me :(
Update: After 3 hours of almost continuous bleeding, the wound has finally clotted and the cause has been determined: the suture fell out. It was pretty gross, the amount of blood clots I spit out was kinda frightening, but everything seems to be okay now. In closing, fuck wisdom teeth.
Why is everyone getting them taken out? If it's that important, I might as well set an appointment.
My dentist says I need to get my wisdom teeth taken out in the near future. Sooner rather than later. i am scare
Just wait until you have to keep them clean after they seal up.
I had all of my premolars pulled out in about the space of three or four days, one of which had a bent root, so pulling it out tore out a HUGE chunk of gum. The last one (the one with the bent root) didn't heal for like a week or so. I'd wake up each morning with blood on my pillow and the top of my duvet. It sucks pretty badly, but it'll be better soon.
Thank god i don't have to go through that again (got mine removed last year during summer break) i ruined like 4 good pillow covers, all drenched in blood from me sleeping on them. Oh they weren't sticking out yet either so they had to cut open the gums and then remove.
