I'd like to be able to play the latest games, if we could go a bit cheaper that'd be fantastic
I haven't looked at building computers in ages now, I'm feeling a bit lazy quite fancy a prebuilt unless I'm really fucking myself by not building it myself
I don't need a monitor
So yeah when I was last looking the go to CPU was a i5-2500k still a good idea?
Probably couple that with a good bang for buck 7-something AMD gfx card?
Would buying a prebuilt from say overclockers really be a terrible idea?

I've been doing a bit of reading and apparently some of the i3s are really good for gaming, feels a bit weird stepping down from a quad core to a dual core though (albeit that my quad is a Q6600 which im sure is very slow by today's standards)
The 4670k has replaced the 2500k as the go to processor for gaming.
A 7xxx series graphics card would be nice, but it's a little over if you want to go with the 4670k.
Don't buy a prebuilt. There are so many reasons not to buy a prebuilt. In short if you want money and a good all around computer, build it yourself.
Just a teeny bit over your budget: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1E7LV
Can't overclock but a better graphics card: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1E7TS (the 1 GB model of the card is cheaper if you want to switch to it).
3350P build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1E804
I would recommend going for this however: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1E83i
Just save up for the graphics card, and use the processor's integrated graphics until then.
You could also go for a G45-gaming motherboard so you can support CFX at faster speeds and SLI, and have better audio (or the z87x-d3h which is slightly cheaper, has more USB, and better BIOS).
Thanks a lot dude, the "can't overclock but a better graphics card" build is very enticing, forgot to mention that I don't even need a case either. So I'll definitely think about that build perhaps splashing out a bit more on the PSU or mobo if you reckon they were a bit budgety to try and squeeze it all in under 600

or poss a 7870
In that case, I would get this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1EatY
The PSU isn't budget, although you would want more wattage if you planned on doing CFX or SLI. A 750 Watt would have you covered for even SLI 780s. The motherboard I picked is good, but it doesn't support SLI and CFX is slower than on motherboards with x8/x8 speed. If you want to move up you can go with the G45-gaming which supports both at x8/x8 speed, and it has better audio quality. I would pay the extra for overclocking if you can afford it. It helps to squeeze a little extra performance out of your processor, especially when it's old and relatively slow.
awesome, thanks again for the help
