i have an xbox controller that is not moving but when i play games with it go ups continuously when i am not moving it. any help?

Thumbstick is worn out and isn't centering properly.

Replacing the thumbstick would probably be your only option. I had the problem with one of my controllers, the spring had gone so the thumbstick wouldn't fully return to the center.
Some games have an option in the settings called "dead zone" which pretty much means ignore any input less than X.
Alternatively you can try to "reset" the controller. I don't know if this kind if thing still happens in modern controllers but in older ones if you booted the console or the controller while holding the thumbstick in a specific direction it would stick there like that, but there was always a way to reset it. Happened to a bunch of my N64 controllers and a Gamecube one (but I've only owned Nintendo consoles so..)
It's a long shot, but it's worth a try to see if its even possible.
