but the taxes start immediately
To all those who have seen this already, turn around and fuck off before you come in here and rate this late: save your horrible bitch-bitch-bitching for somewhere else and let the people who HAVEN'T already seen it see it and comment on it without scrolling through fifty pages of "lol this r so late lol hur hur hur"
You know that little trick the Democrats used to make it appear that ObamaCare will reduce the deficit over the next 10 years? No, not the one where they pretend they’re going to cut Medicare reimbursements for doctors, even though everyone knows they won’t. I’m talking about the one where all the taxes and fees start immediately, but none of the “benefits” kick in until 2014.
Ill watch the money. Dont you worry.
I'll watch the money. Don't you worry.
About that.
If the whole thing is going to cost $897 billion over 10 years, and we’re going to start collecting all these taxes and fees four years in advance of providing the benefits, what do you think they’re going to do with the money during the ensuing four years?
Are they going to deposit it in an interest-bearing bank account?
Are they going to invest it in small cap companies to try to earn a return?
Are they going to put it under Christopher Dodd’s mattress?
The answer, of course, is none of the above. What are they going to do with the money as they collect it over the course of the next four years in advance of providing the “benefits”? They’re going to spend it. All of it.
That’s what they always do with money.
That’s what they do with the money in the so-called Social Security Trust Fund. That’s the money they take from your paycheck in the form of the FICA withholding tax. It’s supposed to be set aside for your future Social Security benefits. It’s not. They spend it as soon as they get it on a) current payouts to Social Security beneficiaries, and, when there is money leftover; b) anything else they want to spend it on.
A government that is running annual deficits in excess of $1 trillion, as the federal government projects to do for the rest of the decade under President Obama’s own budget numbers, is not going to stash away hundreds of billions in cash in a shoebox. It never has – no matter how sacrosanct the supposed purpose of the money – and it never will.
Remember the Troubled Asset Relief Program? This was supposed to be used only to rescue the financial system from collapse caused by toxic mortgages. Instead, it was used to bail out General Motors and Chrysler, and to pay for last week’s $155 billion “jobs bill.”
We were told not to worry about the allocation because it would all be paid back, and some of it was paid back very quickly, but as soon as the money was paid back, the government just went ahead and spent it on something else.
The government will do the same with the taxes and fees collected to pay for health care. It will be spent as soon as it is collected. The Associated Press and other lapdog media outlets will not report that the money is being spent. They will not ask where it’s been stashed away. So you will not know that the money is gone.
But the money will be gone.
And in 2014, when the “benefits” are scheduled to kick in, there will be no money available to pay for them. None. And if ObamaCare has not yet been repealed at that point, the people who are running the show four years hence will explain to the nation that an emergency faces us, because we cannot break the sacred trust established on Christmas Eve 2009 when health care for all was made the law of the land.
But darn it, where did the money to pay for it go? Oops! Well, the only solution is a tax increase so gargantuan that, gosh, we’re sorry, the European welfare state taxes are going to look like pikers compared to this.
But hey, sacred trusts are sacred trusts. It’s an emergency. There’s nothing we can do.
What are the chances of this happening? That would be 100 percent. Unless ObamaCare is repealed in the meantime.

where's my miracle
northstarnational :
- ObamaCare taxes start now, but no ‘benefits’ until 2014? OK, so where will they stash the money? Wait, you don’t think they’ll spend it, do you?
- While Americans slept, Democrats shoved ObamaCare down their throats
- Imposing abortion morality on the dollars of pro-life Americans
So, StrongBad. If an extremely liberal site which bashes Republicans and Conservatives, made an extremely anti-conserative/republican article, is it okay and true because no news site is unbiased?

Yeah but good news sources try offer news that is unbiased and actually make an effort to show the true facts.
How do I know this isn't just what this guy thinks? Where is the factual evidence that the government is going to do this?
Unfortunately some people actually believe "news" articles like this without taking any effort to see if it's true or not.
well who gives a damn about it then anyways
we'll never get to see 2013 anywho with erections and vagina dolls taking over our society
Nobody should be shocked because shit doesn't get fixed within a blink of an eye. Takes time. You can't just turn the cheats on and enter a phrase to give yourself X money. This is real life kiddies.
But we are all going to die in 2012?
Imposing abortion morality on the dollars of pro-life Americans
Kind of like what Bush did with pro-choice Americans
Why the hell do people call it Obamacare?
Why the hell do people call it Obamacare?
because they are dumb and cannot have political opinions that aren't heavily based on the use of dumb buzzwords.

Pro-choicers imposing on pro-lifers sounds rather oxymoronic.
Lawl, North Star National and the Heritage Foundation? Talk about right-wing bullshit factories. Might as well have posed Hal Turner as your source.

Nobody would notice or care if conservatives and Republicans got bashed. Turn it around on them and it's hate speech, bigoted, racist, or whatever other title they can slap on to make themselves feel better.
I find it amazing you don't think any of the three things you mentioned are true. We won't be getting anything for years, and tax money these days just gets blown on frivilous, debt-accumulating things (read: stimulus, which mostly went to worthless projects). They've been trying to get this stuff and they were up at midnight voting while everyone was sleeping. Finally, there is no way you can justify forcing everyone to pay for abortions, particularly people who are against it. It's not like they listen to us anymore anyway, though...
Fat load of good that'll do!
Brilliant, that's where compromise has taken us.
I wonder how far single-payer would go. It sounds like a far better option now.
Whoops
Also, what kind of "benefits" are you talking about? If it's discrimination-free access to healthcare and the "core benefits" outlined in the bill, then obviously it kicks in immediately, if it's in terms of the packages offered by the proposed Exchange those kick in next year, and if it's in terms of fiscal policy - which you seem to care about so much - I don't think it provides that much bang for buck, either.
So people have to wait to be taken care of? Isn't this backwards? Shouldn't it be like the benefits should be now, and the health care bill assembled along the way to fine tune said benefits? I wish. That would be the perfect society. I mean how greedy can you get...
So those people who can't afford their AIDS medication need to wait five years before they can qualify under preexisting conditions?
Bullshit.

too bad your individual worrying about what you're being "forced to pay for" means absolutely nothing
All the money is going towards 3 ships built in china so they can have people survive in 2012.
Funny how it kicks into effect AFTER an election year.
Maybe they know if it blows up in their faces, Obama will already be on his second term.
