...The Fountain is a story of love, death, spirituality, and the fragility of our existence in this world
Just saw it the other day and I must say it was quite amazing. The cinematography is some of the best I've seen, and the message it gives is superb. From the same Director as Black Swan, Requiem For a Dream, The Wrestler, Pi ... I would say the best way to enjoy this movie is to know nothing about it.
this movie rules, kinda weird though
I hear it's kind of slow paced.
I hear it's kind of slow paced.
so is 2001, but its still a great movie.
I hear it's kind of slow paced.
Not as slow as many. It's slow if you're looking for action, or thriller. It's a drama/artistic piece, so don't expect snowmobile chases and gunfights is all.
I love this movie, when "Together We Will Live Forever" played over the credits, goddamn it was so perfect.
This is my favourite film ever. It's fucking beautiful. The soundtrack is perfect.
I just finished watching this. It is an incredibly beautiful film.
I fucking love this film, one of my favourites. First time I watched it I actually teared up :'(
Is this on instant watch for Netflix because if it is, I think I will re-activate my account.
This movie was incredibly boring, the hell did you guys watch? I mean, sure, it was a visual treat but its pace was so god damned slow and the story was just barely followable. Must be another one of those pesky art house films that only intellectuals understand and enjoy.

The movie wasn't made for people like you
This is a mindfuck movie, but I liked it. Must watch again.
Everyone compares this movie to 2001, but the difference with this and 2001 are these things: 1.2001 is packed with metaphors. http://collativelearning.com/2001%20analysis%20new.html This site contains every single possible metaphor. 2.2001 contains stunning visuals, even for today, with fantastic camerawork, and a powerful score. 3.2001 was initially criticized because of it's slow pace, one that audiences were not used to back then. As film audiences became more open to slow paces, this movie was refounded as a masterpiece. 1.The fountain does contain metaphors, but all of them are blatantly apparent, and dull. 2.The fountains visuals are a testament to needlessness, with some shots with nothing happening in them lasting for upwards of 2 minutes. 3.This movie is slow, but not slow as in a scene without dialogue, slow as in flying through darkness for 15 minutes.
I'll try to watch this when I can, seems interesting.

Only less pretty colours.

The fountain flying trough dark stuff was also a metaphor.
The fountain flying trough dark stuff was also a metaphor.
A singular 15 minute metaphor.
Sweet Jesus, the trailers make it look incredible! I hope they don't disappoint!
I've never heard of this movie... I must watch it, because I have the biggest crush on Rachel Weisz... seriously :/ I think I love her... too bad she would never be interested in me :/
I've been meaning to buy this film but I never got around to it, I will make an effort and try and get a copy over the weekend.
Wow just got done watching it, can't figure out whether the orb was the actual future or just a visual representation of the his present dilemmas.
Dr Cox hates him.
