Tesco was last night accused of ‘shameless profiteering’ after increasing the price of its bottled water by 40 per cent while Britain is in the grip of its worst heatwave in seven years. cant people just bring their own water bottles when they go out anyway.
People shouldn't be buying bottled water anyways.
It's not like more water is sold in a heatwave or anything, right?
I still can't believe people buy bottled water. It doesn't come from a spring, it isn't any cleaner than the water from your own tap. The plastic bottle itself is more valuable than the water and that isn't worth anything Get your own bottle, fill it at home

Apart from that, yeah, people who drink bottled water in their homes; they're the first to lose their heads when the revolution comes.
People shouldn't be buying bottled water anyways.
A demand exists, and so it shall be filled.
moneymoneymoneymoney.
Reminder that bottled water is just purified tap water. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3523303.stm [editline]21st July 2013[/editline] Unrelated but lol
Early advertisements referred to Dasani as "bottled spunk" or featured the tagline "can't live without spunk". These slogans were used seemingly oblivious to the fact that spunk is slang for semen in the UK.

A demand exists, and so it shall be filled.
And based on supply and demand, you increase price to demand from going over your capacity to supply, so people shouldn't be whining. They do around the same thing in the us with meat near the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The only time I can say I've seen anyone buy bottled water was to fill up a bong outside, and that was just one occasion.
Everyone in Aus buys bottled water, which is sold at $2.50+ per 600ml bottle. Although for a 24 pack it is only $15

It's gone up due to increased demand resulting in supply shortages at a few stores. We've got a few supply issues on various products thanks to this heatwave.
I remember there being an Only Fools And Horses episode where they sold tap water.
Most all bottled water is tap water, sometimes filtered a little. And there's nothing wrong with that. Tap water is perfectly good for you, and bottling it makes it more convenient when you're away from home.
You can buy a 2L woolies branded bottled water for like 60 cents... maybe it was 40 cents.
Shit, really? I have never seen any bottle of water for under $2, even one of those 2L bottles from Woolies. Unless it's just a WA thing. [editline]21st July 2013[/editline] Yeah it's a WA thing, $1.20 for the 2L bottle.

I don't think there were ever denying it was just tap water: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=250634760 Product details: Just water
I still can't believe people buy bottled water. It doesn't come from a spring, it isn't any cleaner than the water from your own tap. Our local grocery store's brand of bottled water is cheap, and is actually purified, considering it's clean enough to supercool, and doesn't taste of shitty river water that's been half-assedly cleaned in a 60 year old water treatment plant, we installed a faucet filter, and that made the water taste even worse, instead of being really metallic tasting, it's now almost slimy and nasty.
Or, you know, take water with you instead of buying the expensive stuff or not bitch about the water being 'expensive'.
Well, yeah. I always carry water in my pockets when I'm away from home :v:
Everyone in Aus buys bottled water, which is sold at $2.50+ per 600ml bottle. Although for a 24 pack it is only $15
Its even more annoying at school when everybody buys bottled water from the canteen There are fucking fountains EVERYWHERE
Or, you know, take water with you instead of buying the expensive stuff or not bitch about the water being 'expensive'.
People who do outside labor can go through a bottle in an hour or so. Bottled water is very convenient.
cant people just bring their own water bottles when they go out anyway.
I used to live in slough, and I can personally tell you, that tap water is fucking rank.
I guess no one has ever had a job that requires them to work outside for long periods of time.
Yes we had. We bring a 1,5L bottle of water we filled up at home.
There's not even any sense behind this. Say you're an outdoor laborer and you've got a pair of twenty pence coins for buying bottled water. Previously you would have paid 34p for two bottles, but now you're paying 24p for just one and you can't afford another. I fucking hate how Tesco prices everything you can buy with spare change with the odd few pence on top - its a massive inconvenience and I've lost count of the number of times I've ended up paying my local Tesco Metro less because I haven't had the 3 pence extra for fucking chocolate or some shit. I've also noticed they sell Coke Cans (330 ML) for 59p and Coke mini bottles (370 ML) for 97p. For 23p more than a mini-coke bottle you can have almost double the amount of liquid by buying a pair of cans.
Yes we had. We bring a 1,5L bottle of water we filled up at home.
1,5l isn't going to last very long, specifically of your at a very hectic work site.
Its even more annoying at school when everybody buys bottled water from the canteen There are fucking fountains EVERYWHERE
I haven't taken a drink from a school fountain ever since i saw a kid piss in one, also who fucking knows who was putting their face on it, i've actually gotten sick from drinking from one of them, this kid in front of me in first or second grade took a drink, and placed the entire spout of the fountain in his mouth, me being a little kid, took a drink anyway, and i got extremely sick for a week over it, the other kid was already sick before he did that.
