Epic Games just released a very highly-anticipated game. They introduced this in the 2010 Keynote when it was codenamed, "Project Sword." They have since released a demo of sorts to show off the kind of graphics that the game will boast in an app called, "Epic Citadel." Well, ladies and gentlemen, the full game is now out, and Epic Games are proud to present to you: So what's so special about this game? This game is an RPG with more depth than other games in its class. It combines graphical excellence with an excellent mix of RPG elements and intuitive level design. It uses a new combat system that has you, instead of tapping on buttons to attack your enemies, swipe across in sword slashes to take them down. You can have several combinations of swipes that takes your enemies down fast and hard. If you have the experience, that is. Are those graphics in-game? Indeed they are. This is the first game on a mobile device to be running on Unreal Engine 3.0. The graphics here are stunning, and, well, let the screenshots do the talking down below. Minimum requirements? Seeing as it is an extremely graphics-intensive game that requires OpenGL ES 2.0, this game will require one of the following devices to run: - iPod touch 3rd Generation - iPod touch 4th Generation - iPhone 3GS - iPhone 4 - iPad So it will NOT run on: - iPod touch 1st Generation - iPod touch 2nd Generation - iPhone 2G - iPhone 3G Awesome! How much is it? $5.99! iTunes Link Enough of this talking. Where's the media? Here you go. As previously mentioned, all of these are ingame (except the game itself doesn't actually have AA. That's just done for promotional purposes.) Stay tuned!
It blows my mind that this is possible on a phone.
Reminds me of that colossus game
those actually aren't in-game shots, the game doesn't have anti-aliasing. though, the game does look quite impressive, and they hide the jagged edges with the environment by using sprites, at least it seems to be what it uses, as you'll notice on trees the main branches are pixels and then the smaller ones are smooth, as is with distant environments, sort of like a skybox. the main menu uses this, too, only the character and the rocks he's standing on are actually being rendered in real time it's fun, seems a bit repetitive, though, but you still want to keep playing after slaying every enemy
Awesome! I keep seeing small snip-its of this game in the ipod touch commercials, didn't know Epic made it till now. Will definitely buy with my spare itunes gift card.
I bet this wont work so well on my 2G :sigh: Oh well, Only one way to find out!

So I'd say those images are spot on except a little bigger. Otherwise, the textures, bumpmapping, etc etc. is all ingame. But you're right, those screenshots do apply AA which the game doesn't have. Edited.
there bought it
well in a sense it is exploration as it is in Epic Citadel, in some cases, anyway. in Epic Citadel they actually have the option to tap to where you want to go
I liked the graphics on this game, I know alot of people will hate me for this, but the storys just not up to scratch, you basicly play through the same story line, and get killed by an absolutely overpowered boss, then you play the same story as your son. As fun as the game is, the story just isn't too great.

The story is indeed rubbish though. What a sad fucking family. "I'll avenge you fathe- ARHGFDH" dies. 21 years later "I'll avenge you fa- ARHGH" dies. 19 years later etc etc You'd think the God King would get bored of fucking sitting around.
he doesn't just sit around, every 20 years he kills someone
the story is crap, but this game is pretty fun to play.

Where's Jazz Jackrabbit for iOS, Epic?
God this game is hard
Fucking awesome game, I'm on Bloodline 5 at the moment, but it's hard as hell. You'll get used to it, though.
Wow. I remember when I would have killed for these graphics on my PS1, now I can play with them on my iPhone. Incredible.
Player it for about an hour last night, is quite fun, finding the parry attack a bit hit and miss though. First time I met the end boss he destroyed me before I managed to even land a blow...
I honestly can't wait for more games like this too be make with the unreal engine. It would be perfect to make a good Walk-around RPG on it.
Almost killed the last boss on Bloodline 4 :( On to Bloodline 5.
on bloodline 3 i [sp]decided to side with him, got the alternate achievement ending, and immediately after it gives you the option to kill him again as it reverts to before you initiate the battle[/sp]
Damn I want my iPhone now. [editline]11th December 2010[/editline] Stupid iPod 3G.
You can play it on an iPod 3G...
Oh woops misread it.

Stupid Ipod 2g . If only it would come for android.... ( Im getting samsung galaxy S , which have the one of the most powerful graphics on the mobile devices , so that is sad)
