^get that one
Haha of course the most expensive one, thanks
You'll want that one because of the dedicated graphics card :)
Saying that it runs pretty well on my friend's thirteen inch, but rendering, logging and capturing and that kind of thing takes longer.
like what Toxicpiano said, you want to have a dedicated gpu. the 9400m is great but not that great.
Final cut pro will run on any of those laptops, it would obviously run faster on the one with a higher CPU speed, but any of those will run it ok. The rendering of keyframe animation, filters and effects will take longer on the lower end ones, but the UI should be just as responsive on one with a 9400 or a 9600 GPU.
Is there any cheap ways to get final cut pro 7? Like any student discount etc. How did you guys get it, directly from apple?

Well I don't know about an ordinary student discount but in the higher education store, instead of £799.00 it's £249.55

Cheers, that's really good value. Gonna investigate tomorrow.
Any of them will run Final Cut. I edited my college final project on a white Macbook (GMA 950) so don't worry too much about graphics power.
I would say go for dedicated if you can afford it (running off aluminum MBP/2.4GHz/9600GT) as the difference is most definitely noticeable.
I run FCP on an old x3100 macbook and it's fine for basic cutting, but using the HD motion templates makes it pretty sluggish.

They all are the most expensive.
None. Build a PC. Laptops are a waste of resources and time.

Yes because you can run final cut pro on a windows based machine :downs:
OP if you can get good discounts then grab the one with the 9600gpu in as that will perform the best, if your money doesnt stretch that far then choose either of these:

Just depending on wether your gonna need better portability or you will use a bigger monitor for the 13"
