Hey
I'm looking for a netbook for a friend with a budget no higher than £350. They're looking for a netbook for them to use on their gap year until they get a good laptop to use at University. They only really want it for basic things, such as web browsing, messenger and Spotify and a bit of word processing. I think they're also wanting some reasonably fast, probably a bit faster than the Ace Aspire One D255 they're using at the moment. Battery life and HDD space aren't really an issue.
Also I'm in the UK, so post links from sites that ship to the UK.
I would go with an Eee PC and slap Jolicloud or something on it.
This is a laptop they want me to show you lot. How would this do if they added an extra 1gb of ram to it?

ASUS, MSi. I'd go for something with a dual core CPU instead of a single with high clockspeed.
There's a dual core version of the D255 which also has DDR3 RAM. A bit harder to find though.
