As the title says i got a 42" Tv hooked to my pc, but i get the lowest possible
resolution, how do i fix it?

What kind of cable are you using to connect? And what type of TV is it. (LCD, CRT)
A DVI to VGA adapter behind the Pc and a vga cable to the tv

Just for more info, You can not use HDMI while you use DVI if I recall correctly. If I am wrong, someone go ahead and correct me.
No, I think you're right gerbile, something to do with HDCP bullcrap.
OP, what's the resolution supposed to be? What model is it?
Try forcing the output in ATICC or NVCP.
Is your tv HD?
