• TF2 Runs extremely slow all of a sudden

My computer is a little bit over a year old, and used to be able to run games like TF2 on maximum graphics with at least 60 fps or higher, but about a month before my I had this computer for a year, I had to download skin mods, set my Direct X Level to 70, and set other options to try and keep my game at 10 fps. I deleted every steam game from my computer and uninstalled just about everything except system 32. Now I'm not all that computer savvy, so I can't really tell you my computer statistics of core processors and stuff like that. All I can say is that I'm using an hp with Windows 7 and Intel Pentium with a graphics card of Intel(R) HD Graphics and my processor is Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU P6100 @ 2.00Hz (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz (If that helps.) Thanks!
Do a virus scan and make sure no unnecessary programs are running in the background. If none of these fix the issue, there should be a program on your pc called HP update which will check for driver updates which may fix the speed issue

I will look into that HP Update though. Thanks for the help :3
reformat to make space better
Checked that the TF2 files aren't fragmented? Integrity Check? Mine was running slow not so long ago, had 1% fragmentation, now fine.
Checked that the TF2 files aren't fragmented?
What do you mean by fragmented TF2 files? How do I check that I fragmented them?
Steam Library > Right click TF2 > Properties > Local Files. Verify the integrity, then defragment if need be.
- restart your pc and wait until it is compleetly started. Press CTRL-ALT-DEL and check if either your Ram or CPU usage is above 50% - Download HW monitor and run it while playing TF2 for 10 minutes. Close tf2 and post a screenshot of HWmonitor here.
You're using an HP and have noticed a performance degradation. This usually means that the computer is overheating, it's very common for HP laptops. You can check by using HWMonitor while playing a game and seeing the max temperatures after ten minutes or so. If they're above 60c for the CPU/GPU (assuming that the Intel IGP is on the CPU), you may have a problem and need to clean out your fans. It may be hard to get to the fans, but clean the dust out of them, and check they're still operational. HP laptops do have a pretty high failure rates due to overheating.
I agree with Juggernog, it's an overheating issue that should be addressed, especially now that FPS rates are dropping to only 10 frames per second maximum on that laptop. Overheating usually causes framerates to drop to 25-30, but at 10, the overheating issue will be fatal if you don't get a new laptop or open up the case and replace the stock parts. Factory parts on laptops usually cause overheating.
