I often see a lot of people arguing over whether Circumcised or Un-circumcised is better, and both sides have valid points, I myself am all for circumcision if you want to be circumcised, but I'm against circumcision at birth when it is totally unneeded. but I am for it when the child does require medical attention to do with the foreskin. it should rather be left until that person turns 18 for them to decide whether they want to be circumcised or not.
Lloyd Schofield has come one step closer to achieving his mission to ban circumcision -- the surgical removal of the penile foreskin -- in the City by the Bay.San Francisco city officials said Wednesday that Schofield had collected enough signatures -- more than 12,000 -- to put the measure on the city ballot in November 2011."The foreskin is there for a reason," said Schofield, who is retired from a career in the hotel industry."It's not a birth defect. It serves an important function in a man's life, and nobody has a right to perform unnecessary surgery on another human being."

Schofield began researching circumcision several years ago and found a local group of "intactivists," people who believe that infant boys have the right to keep their foreskin intact. Together they created an advocacy group called the Prohibition of Genital Cutting of Male Minors. The ban would make it illegal to "circumcise, excise, cut or mutilate the whole or any part of the foreskin, testicles, or penis of another person who has not attained the age of 18 years."
This is a perfect example of someone not thinking of everything, what if someone actually does have a problem with their foreskin? I myself am not circumcised, but this man also wants to outlaw surgery on the actual Penis, which is absurd to me also, because the way he says it, he might as well outlaw all surgery until 18 years of age. So, FP, what are your opinions on circumcision?
I'm circumcised and don't mind it but if I ever have a son there's no way in hell I'd let him be circumcised at birth. It's his body and nothing's going to be done with it until he's old enough to make an informed decision.
Uncircumcised. Being circumcised sounds painful.
IMO no one under 16 or so should be circumcised unless there's a valid reason (e.g. infection).
I find any surgery on a child that isn't medically necessary to be inhumane, and that includes circumcision. However, completely banning any surgery, even in cases of medical necessity, is foolish.
Uncircumcised. Being circumcised sounds painful.
It really isn't, and the whole, "They can't masturbate without lube" argument isn't true either.
The foreskin has remained on the penis for a reason, or else evolution would have removed it over time. It's for protection of the sensitive glans, it's necessary if you wan't to have proper sensation there. Removing it is basically exposing it to a lifetime of rubbing against cloth in your clothes, drying it and desensitising it. Removing it because of medical reasons is hardly an argument, no reason keeping it if it just hurts or completely ruins your sex life.
It really isn't, and the whole, "They can't masturbate without lube" argument isn't true either.
I don't know how it is for individuals that are uncircumcised, but there's a huge difference in quality of masturbation with lubrication vs none, largely due to how little the skin can move.
I am against cutting things of children.
From a medical standpoint, I am pro-circumcision in general. http://www.medicinenet.com/circumcision_the_medical_pros_and_cons/page5.htm The link leads to an article on the subject. I read the entire article, but page 5 has an "at a glance" section. It appears that circumcision is a positive thing, in general, with the exception of increased chance of meatitis (a disease with no long term effects, unlike STDs). I feel that if a parent wants to have their child circumcised at birth for any reason, medical, religious, or otherwise, he/she should not be prevented by a federal law.

I'm not saying weither or not foreskins are Vestigial or not because I don't really know, just that such a thing as useless body parts exists.
I don't know enough about Female circumcision to post about it, if anyone is kind enough you can post about that if you feel so. I'm against it though, because it can cause irreversible damage to the Vagina.
Female genital mutilation (FGM), also known as female genital cutting and female circumcision, is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as "all procedures that involve partial or total removal of the external female genitalia, or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons."[1] FGM is typically carried out on girls from a few days old to puberty. It may take place in a hospital, but is usually performed, without anaesthesia, by a traditional circumciser using a knife, razor, or scissors. According to the WHO, it is practised in 28 countries in western, eastern, and north-eastern Africa, in parts of Asia and the Middle East, and within some immigrant communities in Europe, North America, and Australasia.[2] The WHO estimates that 100–140 million women and girls around the world have experienced the procedure, including 92 million in Africa.[1]
http://www.circumstitions.com/Restore.html Oh lord, regrowing Foreskin sounds painful.

Maybe not as sensitive as having foreskin, but I'm not completely desensitized.
Female Circumcision bad, Male Circumcision eh. I know a dude who has some sort of condition that fucks up his foreskin, makes it difficult for him to have sex. He says he wish he got circumcised.
Circumcised myself, but I'm against it. I think I would have liked the choice to decide to mutilate my penis or not, regardless of any pros to circumcision. Also, even though there are studies that says circumcision helps against STDs it does not justify it and you still need to use a condom.

Are there any real benefits of circumcision for people who live in developed countries and practice safe sex?
idk people should do whatever they want to their weewees
Are there any real benefits of circumcision for people who live in developed countries and practice safe sex?
It makes it last longer in bed, and some girls think circumsized penises are considered "cleaner"
It makes it last longer in bed, and some girls think circumsized penises are considered "cleaner"
That can also depend on the person if you think about it :eng101:
I was circumstised at 7, I couldn't retract my foreskin or some shit! My sex life and masturbation is pretty great!
It makes it last longer in bed, and some girls think circumsized penises are considered "cleaner"
That's mainly in the US.
If it doesn't have anything to do with religion or something medical, i say it's unnecessary.
None of you would make the choice to be circumsized.
I was circumstised at 7, I couldn't retract my foreskin or some shit! My sex life and masturbation is pretty great!
me too except for the sex part
It makes it last longer in bed, and some girls think circumsized penises are considered "cleaner"
That's only in America, and even if it was worldwide, it's a pretty poor argument for cutting a part of your kid's dick off.
And he still can, and it would be his choice.
that would be awkward to bring up
that would be awkward to bring up
How so? If he has problems with his penis he needs to get it checked out, I don't get why people are so afraid to get their genitals checked :zombie:
For some reason, when I was born the foreskin hurt like hell when I pulled it down, it was way to sensetive and it hurt to wash it, so I went to a doctor and got circumcised, obviously not everyone needs to have it done but whatever, it hasn't affected me negatively.
