• Windows 7 Enterprise - How could one re-install the KMS service separately?

I want to genuinely activate my Win 7 x64 Enterprise notebook, but the Key Management Service binding is missing. I'm not sure about the actual binaries or other files. Anyone know what files to extract from the Windows ISO or what download from MSDN exists so that I could just add the KMS service myself? [sp]No, I wont re-install Windows, and no, I wont try to do an automatic repair, as I don't know what original disc this Win7 was installed from. Guess and check is a pain in the ass, especially after a service pack is installed; it may not be possible at this point, from my experience.[/sp] [editline]19th November 2015[/editline] If I install a volume-licensed Office (say, Pro Plus), would it automatically restore/install KMS?
No, I wont re-install Windows, and no, I wont try to do an automatic repair, as I don't know what original disc this Win7 was installed from.
then you're probably shit outta luck
If this is a company/school owned machine, you should probably just let their IT staff handle it. They are going to know more about their KMS setup than we will. Odds are though, they are going to say "re-image the machine" because sometimes problems like this aren't worth the time spent trying to fix them unless they know an easy fix. But once again, you need to know their setup, as it looks for a KMS server. If this isn't a company laptop (or its an old company laptop) you don't have a Windows 7 Enterprise license as companies buy those in bulk directly through Microsoft and checks against a KMS server that they own. You need to check if the laptop has an unused OEM Win7 (or 8 if it was downgraded) license on it and reinstall the correct Windows version.
sfc /scannow ESET Service Repair Tool DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth - for windows 7, you'll have to grab DISM from the microsoft website before using it. There's plenty of documentation of the various commands, including using an .iso as a 'known good' image to restore files from. [editline] [/editline] I am assuming it's missing due to corruption, OP is somewhat vague
