I feel like ranting about Microsoft and Xbox Live, but I don't think this belongs in the general discussion or the gaming discussion forums. Share your anger about Microsoft here if you want. Or if you disagree, then tell me why.
I dislike how Microsoft buys "exclusive" DLC. First of all, ALL Gold subscribers contribute to a pool of money. MS spends this pool of money on Live related stuff besides making a profit. Sometimes MS spends money on exclusive DLC. Take exclusive Call of Duty DLC for example. The problem with this is that the exclusive DLC only benefits the SOME of the Gold subscribers who bought Call of Duty and are willing to pay Activision's inflated DLC price.
The exclusive DLC isn't even really exclusive. It's just a timed exclusive which basically means that Microsoft sucked Bobby Kotick's dick so that he would deliberately delay the release of DLC for the PS3 and PC by a few months. No game developer is rushing to release DLC for the Xbox 360 in advance. It's just corporate greed and the publisher's lack of commitment to it's loyal PS3 and PC fans.
I also dislike how you have to be a Gold subscriber just to play the multiplayer portion of a game. I already payed for the game. Why do I have to keep on paying Microsoft on a monthly basis just to enjoy all portions of my game? Why can't MS at least release a cheaper version of Gold that only lets you play multiplayer? It would be a different plan, similar to how cell phone companies have different plans. But that won't happen because MS knows multiplayer is the main reason why people subscribe to Gold. MS justifies subscribing to Gold because they added a lot of features to it. BROAD, GENERAL STATEMENT THAT IS MOST LIKELY TRUE ALERT: No one really cares about the extra features on Live such as Facebook or ESPN. It's just frivolous features I can access from other mediums without MS being the middleman.
And what's the deal with commercials on the dashboard? Sure, they're easy to ignore and skip, but it's the lack of principles that bother me. No company should ever put advertisements up on a service that people already payed for. Shame on Microsoft for doing so.
why. is. it. green?????????????????????????
(I hate updates only because they reset my theme)
but I havent played xbox in a llllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnng time
I very rarely play X-Box multiplayer, anymore. The next time I might play it is when Gears of War 3 comes out. Other than that, I just play singleplayer games.
But still. They should do what Sony did with the PS3. It's perfect.
Free multiplayer, but exclusives and bonuses for a subscription.
PS3: You wanna play with your friends? Sure. But if you pay us a bit, we can toss you some cool, extra features!
X-Box: You want to play with your friends? Sure, have fun. ...Oh, you want to play online? Fuck you. Give us money. What's that? You only want to play multiplayer and don't give two shits about Netflix, Facebook, ESPN, etc? Fuck you. You will take it if you want online. Either that, or fuck off.
I hate my xbox, I wish I didn't love it so much.
Xbox.com just sent me 15 months worth of codes.
Dunno why, but they worked.
Jesus man if you're so pissed off at microsoft just buy a PS3 or a PC. If you don't do that, then don't complain.

Wrong. Very wrong. It wouldn't be there if no one was using it.
It's just corporate greed and the publisher's lack of commitment to it's loyal PS3 and PC fans.
Microsoft is paying them big bucks to release it a month later, and it doesn't really affect the sales of the DLC for the publishers. Money is always going to be the most important thing in a financial scenario.

We pay money for a subscription to a magazine.
Half of the pages are advertisements.
We pay money for cable/satellite TV.
A lot of the time is spent watching commercials.
Go complain to them, they've been doing it for a long time now.
