When you get the chance, tell us how the port is. Always important to know the quality of a port.
A guy in my friendslist got the game, I asked him how it was.
19:55 - .Plaster: is the game well ported over to pc? 19:55 - AnthRamen: Flawless, really, I see no difference. 19:57 - .Plaster: how are the controlls anyway? like what keys to you have to use, or are you using the xbox controller? 19:58 - AnthRamen: A + D to rotate the world 19:58 - AnthRamen: Arrow keys to move 19:58 - AnthRamen: Space to jump 19:58 - AnthRamen: Shift to Talk 19:58 - AnthRamen: Ctrl to interact and pick stuff up and open chests etc 19:58 - AnthRamen: Tab for inventory 19:58 - AnthRamen: Esc for map 19:58 - AnthRamen: And enter to pause 19:59 - AnthRamen: You can also use the mouse at the menus which is kinda nifty 19:59 - AnthRamen: And you can right click and drag to look around
Seems alright; my main concerns were with performance, but the controls sound like they have appropriate configuration to where the hands would be on the keyboard. So all in all it sounds like a good port from what's been stated.
Please stop funding Phil Fish.
Why, are his actions a threat to the industry? Sure he seems arrogant based off of that tweet, but will giving him money cause any serious damage to the industry with questionable business practices? If not, then buying this game will not hurt the games industry.
My main concern is how this shit game got on to Steam without being Greenlit. There's better ones out on Greenlight Workshop and they still haven't been greenlit/released. [editline]1st May 2013[/editline] No but he gives indie devs a bad rep.
Uh maybe because the game is already an established title on XBLA from a dude who has a lot more developer influence than unknown developers might be why Greenlit is for games/developers who have no way to recognized or seen due to them being obscure and unknown to get onto steam. There is literally no point for a game like Fez to show up on greenlight because you are kidding yourself if you don't think the game wouldn't get enough votes within a day (surprise, Fez has more fans than haters outside of FP, and most gamers outside of FP could give two fucks what phil fish says on twitter when he's bored). Games like that shouldn't need to be on greenlight, its not what greenlight is for
What was the tweet in question?
Too many to name, you can just go to his twitter page and see. But this is the most noteworthy one.
What was the tweet in question?
He says stupid shit on twitter all the time, that sounds even more stupid when you take it out of contect I.e. stuff like "All japanese game developers are bad", "you're a fool if you don't buy my game at $9, it's a steal", etc. AKA the dudes basically a doucher with an ego on twitter.

Isn't Fez the really easy game that hasn't got any challenge and is really boring?
Obligatory.

Lots of people know who RWS is, they've already had experience with making games. Phil Fish has zero influence to game developers, hell if anything he's like the opposite of one should be. [editline]1st May 2013[/editline]
Isn't Fez the really easy game that hasn't got any challenge and is really boring?
Plus no consequences!
Isn't Fez the really easy game that hasn't got any challenge and is really boring?
Depends. If you don't find games like Journey or Dear Esther or Knytt to be fun to play then you won't like fez. However if you enjoy those kinds of games or have the capacity to enjoy them then you'll likely love fez. The point isn't about it being hard/challenging gameplay wise but that it's more or less a nice experience to play and explore.

He has continually stated that "THIS GAME NEEDS TO BE PLAYED WITH A GAMEPAD AND PCs ARE FOR SPREADSHEETS" until his AMA with reddit where he turns around and says "I want more money." Nice quotes from him include "Fez should be worth 20 dollars instead of 8, you ungrateful fucks" and "I would kill myself" when asked what he would do if he couldn't finish the game. Overall he's an egotistical, melodramatic fuck who likes to pin the blame on everyone but himself.
So why did Postal 2, a game that came out many years ago, had to go through Greenlight? Lots of people know who RWS is, they've already had experience with making games.
Might have been because of the extreme content in the game, Valve probably made them go through greenlight to know if the community wants such content onto the platform and if it would cause an outrage. Of course this is just speculation.

fez is a true work of art and is the best indie video game since minecraft

Seriously, back when Valve first started Greenlight they made a point that any developer could use Greenlight if they felt it was a good idea, or they could just use the normal application process and deal with Valve alone.
This Phil guy is hilarious.
Isn't Fez the really easy game that hasn't got any challenge and is really boring?
literally the only thing it has going for it is WHOA SHIT YOU CAN TURN THE DIMENSIONS OF THE GAME AROUND!!! if one is really interested in such a gimmick, they should play sky island instead and not give their money to a jerkoff, it does the same thing except its 100% better (and actually provides a challenge with enemies, actual consequences, is free, and more than likely did not have a douchebag on the dev team [editline]1st May 2013[/editline]
My main concern is how this shit game got on to Steam without being Greenlit.
literally the only thing it has going for it is WHOA SHIT YOU CAN TURN THE DIMENSIONS OF THE GAME AROUND!!!
No, it doesn't, that whole part of the game is like maybe 30% of the game, the real value and the real reason why it's been getting so much praise from various places is the huge, hidden, overarching, almost ARG-style puzzle that you might not even find if you just play the game and that's something that hasn't really been done in much games before.
puzzles that are just QR codes ~never been done before~
No, there's much, much more to that. The QR codes is just a part of that.
Why isn't anyone mentioning that fez supports only 720p, 1080p and 1440p resolutions? Other resolutions are letterboxed or pillarboxed or even both. Also the performance is bad for some people, because it only uses one core and barely uses GPU.
This game is pretty crap. It's too full of itself and trying too hard to be "High Art" when it's just an insult to indie devs who put effort into their games being artistic and fun to play. And I'm sorry weren't all PCs only good for making spreadsheets?
