Hello. I will soon get around 300-400 euros and i am planning on a upgrade. Can i please have some advice what should i upgrade to run BF4, Crysis 3 at max, and other FPS games without problems. I know i have to upgrade my GPU because it is VERY OLD. I now upgraded my CPU, Motherboard and RAM in christmas. Specs: AMD FX-6200 3,8 GHz 6-core CPU MSI nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS 512 (old, i know. upgradin this is highest priority lol) 8 GB of G.Skill Sniper RAM 1866 MHz. 500 watt PSU (i think it is going to die, PC will not start, fans go to max and doesn't do anything sometimes, requires unplugging power and leaving it unpowered for a hour.) AsRock Extreme4 970 AM3+ Motherboard. I've been planning on saving more money for a GTX 680 and to a good SSD, new PSU (1000 watt), new case, and a new CPU fan (old sucks so bad that i cannot overclock, it is at 60 degrees celsius on full load, PC freezes when trying to run stress test with overclock) but i want to hear your opinion and advice. Thanks, and have a gud day
What resolution are you running at? Also, if your just going to run one gpu, a nice ~600w psu will be plenty. With your budget, I would also advice against a 680, as a 660ti, 670, 7950, 7970,etc are all better bang for your buck. For a new cooler, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus or Evo seem to be the most popular as they give nice performance at a relatively low cost.
I agree with cotton. A 660 Ti or 670 would be good enough for running the games you want to run. Also if you have enough money I recommend upgrading to a FX 8120, that should be able to handle most of the newer GPU's
If you're just aiming to play games at high settings, an SSD should be on the bottom of your priorities. It would be nice to know what resolution you game at.
I'm currently playing at 1280x1024 because my 4:3 monitor doesn't support more, but i will get a free HD monitor so i soon play at 1920x1080 [editline]2nd April 2013[/editline] yeah i was lookin the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus and my friends recommended it [editline]2nd April 2013[/editline] [QUOTE=h3inrich;40125359]I agree with cotton. Also the Hyper 212 plus has to have the right case to fit properly, make sure you have enough space for it.
Holy shit, don't get yourself a 1000watt, waste of money. Technology has become more efficient with power recently with the new motherboards, cpu's and even SSD's. Maybe consider a 750 or 850 at max, depending on your build (how many HDD's, fans etc and gpus)
