Why does the iPhone have to cost so much in the UK ?

This is really pissing me off. Even if I got it from America, I wouldn't be able to use it. Doesnt this annoy anyone else who lives in the UK ?
Buy it in Denmark, it'll be waaaay cheaper.

Would it work ? And if so, where could I order one from ?
Why not buy one from America? You can always unlock it.
It's not really that expensive, just not good value.

But then would I be able to use apps on it ?

Maybe for you.
Yes you're able to use apps if you unlock it. Jailbreaking/Unlocking doesn't take anything away from the iPhone, it allows you to add more features.

It's £540 here for the 32GB which is what I'd need as I've got more than 8GB of music.

Unfortunately I can't.
I meant the 16gb version. Also, not gonna buy it anymore since i saw Nokias' N900..
Big mistake.

Thousands of people on the Apple forums have posted the exact same problem, after recent updates their iPhones fucked up.

You don't. But that also means you probably don't really need an iPhone right now either.

What's your ISP? Just wondering because I have problems myself, only with an iPod Touch.
If you can't afford an iphone then you can't afford the £35 a month contract. And without that contract it's an ipod touch with a phone in it and a shitty battery - Just get an ipod touch and a phone. You won't be able to use the data network without spending millions so what's the point in the smartphone features?
Nobody loves carrying infinite devices with them to provide minimal functionality. Plus, getting an iPod touch is useless because most good business apps require an internet connection. Wi-Fi networks aren't as easy to find as you'd think, specifically not on the road.

Not before 3.1, he said previous to 3.1 it wasn't working and then he upgraded to 3.1 and his apps broke? Broke how, i have no idea, he probably got them through jailbreak and didn't realise an upgrade would delete them.

£3/1 (can't remember which is which with these providers, but either way a ripoff) per megabyte lolno, I use about 50MB a day on my phone with light browsing and push email.
