• Urge to nod my head all the time - Why?
    65 replies, posted
Hey. A few years back I developed this twitch on my eyes, I didn't do this qutomatically, I would feel the urge to do it and then eventually do this. Less than two years ago, it seems to have "migrated" to my head. Now on this day, I still have an annoying urge to nod my head, It's starting to really piss me off. Now, Does anyone know why I'm doing this, or what it is that's causing it, because I really want to know. Oh, I visited my doctor and he was a pillock who said that he was "a big fan of doing nothing" Please help.

Schizophrenia.
Tourettes?
See, I thought that, but with tourettes you do it without even knowing. I know I'm going to do it, I do it myself, I just feel like I need to do it.
Anyone else nod their head slightly after reading the title?
go to a different doctor? or would that be way to easy Edit: I did Lmaoboat, I saw it and I started nodding my head...Oh fuck its contagious
Are you taking prescription antidepressants or stimulants?
Anyone else nod their head slightly after reading the title?
I nodded from left to right after reading this.
Anyone else nod their head slightly after reading the title?
*nods*
OCD I have the same
OCD I have the same
Hmm, but how has it gone from my eyes to my head, I only twitch my eyes occasionaly now, like once or twice a day.
The fact that it "migrated" suggests that it is not a brain problem, possibly an infection that's moving around your system causing muscle spasms. Could also be a problem with your nevers sending unusual amounts of electrical signal to your muscles. You could also have fibromyalgia, if that's the case just start taking some Vitamin D and you'll be fine. Either that or it's just habit. It's not OCD.
My optician said that the one with my eyes was caused by being stressed or nervous. Forgot to mention but I found this to be true, the nodding just happens all the time.
I have an urge to tighten my neck muscles. It's really hard to not do it.
At least you'll be able to spot coins on the ground easier.
I have an urge to tighten my neck muscles. It's really hard to not do it.
Possibly because if you would not, your head would nod?

I always have an urge to suck on my cheeks.
At least you'll be able to spot coins on the ground easier.
Actually, I usually nod upwards rather than downwards.
Actually, I usually nod upwards rather than downwards.
Then at least you'll be able to spot UFO's easier.
But UFO's don't exist. A more appropriate one would be a plane about to crash on me.
I always have an urge to suck on my cheeks.
Easy boy, I heard cheeks are a gateway to dicks.
But UFO's don't exist. A more appropriate one would be a plane about to crash on me.
Unidentified Flying Object. Why do people always assume it's aliens. And also, with a plane you'd kinda notice the massive fucking shadow and spiraling engine noise.
Might be stress, even though you don't feel it. I've had similar stuff all my life, it could be blinking (more or less forcefully), twitching a muscle or anything really. Of course I can stop this if I focus, but if I stop thinking about it I often do it without noticing. I can even change it by twitching another muscle instead, and with some practice I'll be twitching that one instead the day after. So I'd say you are only stressed, though certain types of stress can be dangerous. Some stress isn't dangerous (maybe it's even a good stress), but some can cause some problems, like raising blood pressure. I'll repeat it, I've had this stuff all my life (though there are periods in which I don't have these, usually when on vacation) and I'm healthy (said by a doctor), you should just try to reduce stress levels. Of course this changes radically if you can not stop it (even if you focus), in which case go to another doctor that takes you seriously, or even better a neurologist.
