Ok I need a new build as my previous is now invalid as soem of the parts are not being sold and/or out of stock. I need a: Case GPU Motherboard DVD Drive I have the following: 500GB HDD 6GB DDR2 Ram 2x2GB 2x1GB AMD Phenom II x4 940 AM2+ Coolermaster 520w SLi/CF PSU I have a budget of around 215£ so £120ish for the GPU and 90-100£ on the Mobo/Case/DVD Drive. I did previously have final decided parts but due to ebuyer taking a couple of the parts out of stock I now have to redo it. If I have final parts done then I will be ordering them tommrow night for christmas. But I have a extra £80 coming in from a refunded mobo so I may have extra to spend but dont want to waste money. Just need a rig that can handle games such as gta4 on high with a nice FPS, and be able to 3DS Max, Sony Vegas, Photoshop CS4, Game Design on (all my college work shizzle) without any problems. Oh and I will be using Windows 7 HP 64bit The Graphics card I was looking at the ATi 5770 as that is £120 and the ATI 4890 has now increase in price again :saddowns: Case, I want something simple with decent cooling and fans, such as the Antec 300 or similar Motherboard has to support 4 DDR2 slots, if not then I will have to have 4GB of ram but meh I am happy to buy from www.ebuyer.com or www.overclockers.co.uk as they are the two bets sites for prices. Will post some lists when I get them done. [editline]11:46PM[/editline] Ok I have these: DVD Drive: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/170014 Case: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158475 IMO looks really nice and will change the fans to red once I repaint my room, and theres a meshed side and lots of fans, so good cooling Motherboard: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/175765 Has everything I need, lots of PCI slots for usb/soundcard/etc 4 DDR2 Slots, AM2+, and is Red so when I modify the Asus case with red fans/etc it will match Graphics Card: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/176938 Nice Cooler, is a OEM model so no silly stickers with shit on. As there is one left will order tommorow defintaly Rate/Hate :3: [editline]12:26AM[/editline] :f5: anyone?
i'd recommend just getting one set of 2x2GB RAM now and another set later. but i'd also first and foremost recommend getting/waiting to get DDR3 RAM mobo instead.
5770 is full of win.
It all looks good to me.
i'd recommend just getting one set of 2x2GB RAM now and another set later. but i'd also first and foremost recommend getting/waiting to get DDR3 RAM mobo instead.
I already have the ram. and I need a computer like, at christmas so I can catch up on all the work I could have been doing as my laptop cant run all my software decently. and waiting for moeny to get a DDR3 Mobo and DDR3 ram might take a while. and my CPU is a AM2+ so I cant use it in a AM3 motherboard
you can use it in an AM3 motherboard as most AM3 motherboards also happen to be AM2 and AM2+ compatible.

He means that it doesn't matter if it has AM2 or not. It's whether or not it's AM2+ that matters.
