Right so, after a long discussion with my mum and dad we have come to the conclusion that i get to have £15000 off the inheritance of my great uncle (he was massivly rich) , he passed last year :( . Anyway i would like to spend up to £2500 - £3500 on a new pc that will make me completly set for a nice long time. I will be running everything from crysis to Metro 2033 to graphics designs and large file compressing and stuff like that so i need a really nice pc
I was thinking :
Radeon 5970
i7 x980
8gb ram
???
just because you have the money, doesnt mean you can needlesly waste it
Maybe spend like £1500, hell that'll get you a really high end pc

if i recall you just bought a hyper 212+
Give me that 3.5 grand and ill build you one like my worklog. (better spec obviously)
Do what Milky said
Let Milky do it!!
Hmmm idno maybe...
That hyper 212 was for the computer at my dads house that i use on thursdays fridays and mondays when im at his house and the rest of the week at my mums.
What would you upgrade millky? would you put a 5870 and i5/i7 in it maybe?
Also can you Laser Etch like a word into the front or something??
[editline]11:50AM[/editline]
Well i will spend UP TO 3500 if its worth it. I probably wont. If im not buying milkys thing i will spend 1000-1500. Im going to buy a new car 2day

Upgrade? I dont think you understand what we can do with 3,500, no upgrades, we start from scratch, and yea im thinking a i7 and 2 5870s at the least. Not to mention all the watercooling.

[QUOTE=derlicious;21052815]Also can you Laser Etch like a word into the front or something??[/QUOTE]
Ofcourse
New case? or what...
ill think about it, im not 100% sure, if you DRAW something up, tell me what you will do via PM then i will think about it?
Well you can take it or leave it, im not going to do a list of the parts I would use etc. as if I did do this then I would spend atleast a month on planning alone.
But you could easily get something like 2 5870s an i7 930, some Vertex SSDs, possibly a modified TJ07 case if you wanted, and a lump of watercooling hardware, and of course I would do things like sleeving the cables, getting the case customized etc.
I think ill pass Milky, to much haslle and i want it ASAP so thanks for offer but nothanks
[editline]01:01PM[/editline]
Should i try a 470/480 or would it be a total waste of money?
[editline]01:19PM[/editline]
How does this look??

Should be pretty future proof?
dont see why you need to waste £800 on that processor, also you need triple channel RAM
OK no worries, Hey you could still get one of my "Milky Edition" sleeved PSU's, any colour you want.
But that build is pretty rough, that CPU is totally pointless, and will give you no performance increase in games or anything that isn't heavy rendering etc over a i7 930, also you need triple channel RAM as someone else mentioned.
Yeh ok will do so i'll swap to a 930 and get [url]http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/6GB-%283x2GB%29-Corsair-XMS3-Classic-DDR3-PC3-10666-%281333%29-Non-ECC-Unbuffered-CAS-9-9-9-24-165V[/url]
Get these instead, faster:

i want to see pics when its done, most of these expensive builds never come true and we all get troll'd
Why not get a 5970?
I'd get a 980x, but that's just me.
Saying because it will last for a long time.
Spend half that much.
Five years later, spend the other half.
Use old computer for server or give to a friend.

And @ guy who said it wont be true...
Do you think i would lie about my uncle dieing? Really? anway i will post pics when i get it.. im going to like sleeve the psu cable and get a really nice PSU cooler (maybe watercooling, not sure how easy it is...)

[editline]05:31PM[/editline]

Im not sure what your budget is, 3 grand? or did you say 1.5?
Strider PSU as you said your going to attempt braiding.
and FYI it'll cost you another £500+ for a decent full watercooling setup, like this:

Yep, overpriced pre-built with an awful case.
A GTX260, and 12GBs of RAM? me thinks they're trying to cash in on the iPod mentality of more GBs = better performance.
