A fine young man, StayBlazed420 originally joined the facepunch forum in December, 2005 at the age of 13 to follow up on his crazy-wild-awesome garrysmod photo's and to get high off the fun, immerse mods that were posted. Only time would tell how this young-wannabe-programmer would inevitably turn out.
At the ripe age of 14, this young Canadian (born and raised in Saskatoon, SK) went to work on his fantasy of becoming an awesome internet dude who created a mod for the Source engine. SMOD always intrigued him, so for that reason he made a mod based off of Smod:Tactical called SMOD: Damage.
Smod Damage was a smashing success. With over 80,000 downloads it was WORLD-FAMOUS. Everyone also LOVED THIS MOD!! (True). It had no glitches or errors and it MADE A SINGLEPLAYER .DLL (compiled Source Code) FUNCTION (100%) ONLINE TO ALLOW AWESOME ONLINE SMOD GAMEPLAY WOOOHOOO!
A few months after releasing the smashing success of a mod, StayBlazed420 started to smoke the heavenly marijuana on an almost daily basis. With a social-network of friends and parties at his disposal, and a completely different and much more fun lifestyle waiting at his door - he ditched the incredible web life he had been engaging in over the past several years.
At the age of 17, StayBlazed420 became a dealer. Primarily trafficking marijuana, and a new-age, next-generation THC by-product known only as "budder", he also was known to be able to help many of his friends and associates acquire pure MDMA, cocaine, ecstasy pills, opiates, mushrooms and other drugs as well. Following the booming success of one of his closest peers, he "blew up" fast. Going from nickel and diming - to flipping QP's, moving up to $1000 of product daily, sometimes averaging out more than $1500 a day in his primary drug-trade.
Stayblazed420 became addicted to money, averaging a Net Pay of $300 daily on average, he was proud to say that he was a "hustler". With a wildly entertaining and booming social life, Stayblazed420 continued on to hustle everyone he knew, whether it were friends or even his closest family. People knew that when they dealt with Stayblazed he was no noob, and when he said he would meet ya somewhere at a certain time - that he always showed up on time. It was after he gained a reputation of being reliable, reasonable and respectable that people knew he was the guy that they wanted their product from. It was also after some dudes house got shot up in a drive-by that people knew not to fuck around with him, or try to "trap" his clientele.
StayBlazed420 had an incredibly interesting, fulfilling and well-entertained life/style that he intended on keeping, however 1 month before his 19th birthday a Search Warrant for "Cocaine and restricted firearms" was issued. (A thread with much more detail was originally posted by stayblazed a few days after being released from jail.. the first time)
4:30am on a Friday night/Saturday morning Stayblazed awoke to loud noises, banging and people yelling - only to find his world was about to come to a devastating, depressing, and non-reversible change.
*BOOM!* "POLICE SEARCH WARRANT!!!!!" were the three magic words to take Stayblazed's current life/style and completely turn it around and reverse it. It was at this very moment his life simultaneously started - and ended in the same moment. From a fast-paced, interesting and wealthy lifestyle with very strong social network of close friends - to a never-ending depression accompanied by PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).
After being released from the Correctional Facility on Tuesday of the following week, Stayblazed420 decided to drive home with these "really cool" pills called Dilauded (Hydromorphone [8x stronger/more potent than morphine]). Like some sort of sick, disturbing and wicked foreshadow - he was pulled over and arrested for possessing these pills without a prescription. He had yet to do them, but after this experience/time spent in prison he figured they must be worth doing. When he was released from jail on Monday, 13 days after originally being released, he went on a journey to find these precious pills he had spent two weeks in jail for possessing.
However, around the same time Stayblazed420 broke up with his girlfriend of (at the time) 1 and a half years. These pills seemed to "magically" and completely cure him of his post-breakup side effects such as ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, GUILT, and REMORSE. He spent the following month sniffing these pills on a daily basis, sometimes sniffing up to $60 a day. They also only stayed visible in a toxicology report done by Probation-Services for only a maximum of THREE days, opposed to his drug of choice (marijuana) which stayed in the system up to 60 days with chronic use. SCORE!
This went on for 8 months straight until someone decided that they'd give Stayblazed420 a fresh bag of syringes and the idea of shooting up the hydromorphone to achieve a better, MUCH MORE powerful high. Stayblazed possessed the syringes for nearly 7 full days before deciding to embark on what would soon become the hardest, most challenging life endeavor he had ever been faced with.
StayBlazed balled-out in his warped perception of reality by spending every dollar he had on 'down' (opiates/heroin) just to avoid the symptoms of withdrawal. Being dopesick was not something Stayblazed liked doing, and he still had a bit of money left over. So he went hard on the drugs. Acquiring a 4 inch, 3/4cm long trackmark down his left arm, and two trackmarks of equal side on the other. He was sticking a needle in his arm up to 10 times daily and doing absolutely FUCK ALL with his life. No more parties or fun nights, just simple nights of drug-induced bliss with no stresses, worries, (friends), girl troubles or anything at all. Being high on down was all he gave a fuck about. He stopped caring how it disturbed his brother and other family members; how he knew he was no-longer a role model for his younger cousins (or ANYBODY for that matter) and how nobody in his family looked up to, or respected him anymore. But yet - he simply didn't care, and learning these simple facts whilst being on cloud 9 in a high so powerful it affected the natural thought-process of his brain - was as easy to accept as accepting that he loved opiates and wanted to do them every single day for the rest of his (recently new) boring, miserable, depressing and lonely life. Opiates simply 'made it all better'.
He moved into his dad's house and was constantly given IR oxy-contin pills (60mg) a day FOR FREE from his irresponsible, alcoholic for a father. While Stayblazed knew that if his dad ever found out the method he was using to get high off these pills it would cancel his chance of getting the free $60/pill drugs, nothing could stop him. Only two months after using a needle for his first time and he is already a full-blown junkie.
The next 22 months of his life are an absolute blur. Getting high off opiates is all he wanted. He almost entirely quit smoking weed, drinking and doing any other drug because he (literally) HAD to spend his money on down/dope to get high as it was the only way to stay above the "sickness" (dope-sickness/withdrawal symptoms) Going in and out of jail for probation violations are the only memories he can really remember to this day as they were the only days spent sober enough to feel and real sort of physical and/or psychological pain.
It was indeed a saddening end to what was once a beautiful, sought-after life with all the money, girls, parties, clothes, friends and fun you could ever have. To this day he has not been to a party since before he started shooting up dope. Lonely, miserable and regretful - he has since tried to better himself by traveling far-far away from his hometown, leaving all his close friends and relatives behind while he tries to better himself by cleaning up his act. Three months prior to leaving his hometown - shooting up/smoking crystal methamphetamine was one of his top three activities. And mixing the meth and dope into the same shot was a completely different "drug high" that in itself was a completely separate psychological addiction from that of either opiates or methamphetamine's.
He is now 10 days sober off of all drugs (except marijuana because even in a town of 200 StayBlazed still has a telepathic ability to seek out people who sell pot/know where to buy pot). Still another 20 days in his long journey and yet all he has to say regarding his arrival home is "I can't wait to shoot up dope again". So let me ask you: If one becomes an addict, does one stay an addict?
So there you have it... A thread that started as a story, but then abruptly ended in a question.. Stayblazed hopes you enjoyed reading about the pathetic-ness of his life for the past 30 months and awaits any replies regarding the story and/or the question.

holy shit you're alive!
That's one hell of a story, man. And no, you don't have to be an addict. I'm glad you're so far sober (aside from weed). Welcome back, Stayblazed.
i want to believe
I guess I'm too new to DD to know you, but that was a pretty rad tale, glad to hear that this character is clean now
I wonder who's reading this
dude you have no idea who I am but I remember reading heaps of your posts
welcome back~
welcome back dude
So let me ask you: If one becomes an addict, does one stay an addict?
One does not simply quit a addiction, but It's possible.
StaySober maann (expect weed ofc)
Ah, it's you again. How many times have you been banned now? :v:
As for an answer to your question, yes you're still addicted after only 10 days, but in 20 maybe you will have other things to look forward to on your homecoming.
I'd advice you to stay in that little town for a while longer though, keep smoking the weed, get to know the locals. As soon as you get back the meth and the dope will always be waiting just around the corner, it's better to distance yourself from all that for a while longer.
Welcome back man. I'm sure you can do it, you just have to want to do it.
That's a cool story, but watch within the day we see he's perma banned for the reason "Alt of StayBlazed420"
The server probably does a daily query for the words "Stay" and "Blazed" in all of the usernames within the database.
Good luck with staying off it and stay try to stay green.
Great read. good to know you didn't die
It's great to hear that you're sober now. To answer your question, you don't necessarily stay an addict, but it will take you a long time (maybe even your whole life) to recover from the addiction.
Making a complete recovery is a choice only you can make. Now that you've told your story, how are you going to approach your future?
Wow that was a very interesting read, I'm glad to hear you're alright man.
keep at it man
Stay blazed, Stayblazed. I remember you, glad to see you're alive and mostly well. Good luck with the addiction.
who?
you made that thread about passing drug tests right?
stayblazed, i'd like to welcome you back by telling you that your "get your piss clean from weed" guide saved a good buddy of all of ours' from going to mississippi jail
ever since he posted about being addicted to opiates i assumed he was either arrested or dead because of the inactivity. nice to see ur alive dude.
How could we forget you? I remember you being one of the few DD'ers who knew what real budder was.
Yeah, its crazy how it goes from being about fun to just about getting your fix.. its a progression noone can predict as well.
I wish you all the luck I have to wish away, that you may kick opiates and drugs in general. Im trying to quit a heavy opiate habit of several years myself.
That's one amazing story
try to get something to distract you from going back to the harder drugs man, get an aim like going abroad or something and maybe a small time job to support it. Just some sort of routine and you'll remember that life ain't so bad when you're scuba diving with a mate in the Caribbean or whatever. I remember reading shit about you when i was only a curious kid on DD, weird to see you come back but good i guess since the last I remember you'd left permanently. You don't really want to live in a haze chasing a high for the rest of your life do you?
shit dude thats fucked up. i feel for ya man, hope everything works out for you.
i wondered where you'd disappeared to - never would have guessed you had so much shit going on
and i never knew you made SMOD: tactical and SMOD: damage. small world
i didnt make tactical phatcat did we just worked on shit together
Smod was the shit. Glad to hear from you again stayblazed, I remember reading your posts a longass time ago!
