• TF2 Mac Problems Random FPS drop

To the Mods: I've tried Google and a Facepunch search. I've never had this problem before. When I play in any server, I get average 40-60 FPS normally. Nice and smooth gameplay. But now once I'm in the server for about 5 mins, I get a random drop to 5-10 FPS, and it just doesn't stop. I can't seem to find the problem. I've already tried playing in a different resolution, lowering the graphics settings, rejoining the server, verifying game cache files, restarting the Mac, and "Force Quitting" out of every other Application. Nothing seems to work. I also have the same problem with L4D2 as well. Any kind of help will be appreciated.
Well, you are on a Mac. (User was banned for this post ("Either help or don't reply" - Swebonny))
I do not know if this program supports the mac's, but there is a program called gamebooster which closes background applications to run your game better. I don't know what else to do.
I heard that Valve completely disregarded Macs after the Mac update. Probably optimization issues? There's a lot of lag complaints from people running TF2 on macs

Ive got a mac and tf2 seems to be working for for me. I usually get lag after big updates though.
Only main problem I have is Lion's wanky in-game mouse tracking. [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline] And when the Space items are spammed.
Haven't gotten this problem....yet.

I've downloaded a fix for it, and even when I'm in a server without people using those weapons. I still have the problem.
Mac? ahahah ahhah ha But yeah. Wish I could help. I don't know how macs can have trouble with TF2 (User was banned for this post ("Either help or don't reply" - Swebonny))
Try installing some low poly particles. Or you could try using a low poly character pack.
Most people here use windows, and i use linux. I doubt you'll get much help around here.
