I want to buy Mass Effect 2, but I don't have enough money for both 1 and 2. Can someone just tell me the entire storyline, including ending, for Mass Effect 1 so I'm up to date, please?
Elevator rides.
You are a human who saves the galaxy from flashlights and evil aliens.
you have sex with a lizard (maybe)
I'd say buy the first game then play the 2nd one later. But if you insist:
The entire storyline can be explained through the codex entries in ME2. All you need to know is this [sp]Citadel is a giant Mass Relay, the Cycle has repeated more times than your mind can fathom, and Nihlus dies.[/sp]
Dont forget romance
Makes perfect sense
you bone Ashley in the end. that is all that is important

Seriously, I expected him to be a team-member[/sp]
Story: You are (Insert name here) Shepard, you are a/an (insert background here), you were born (insert location here), you served in/at (insert backstory here). You have been selected to investigate an attack on the colony of Eden Prime. You are also being tested to see if you are worthy of becoming the galaxy's first human spectre (a galactic law-enforcer who doesn't have to play by the rules). You discover that the [sp]Geth (a forgotten race of AI driven robots)[/sp] are the ones attacking Eden Prime. Nihlus (The spectre agent testing you) is [sp]shot in the back by Saren (another Spectre who appears to have gone evil)[/sp] you continue on and save the colony from being destroyed. [sp]Saren escapes on his mysterious ship[/sp] and you discover [sp]an ancient beacon (built by the long-extinct Protheans)[/sp] which then [sp]knocks Shepard out and gives him a disturbing vision of the future.[/sp] You are then returned to the Citadel (an enormous megastructure which is believed to have been built by the Protheans), to gain evidence against [sp]Saren[/sp] and become a spectre. There's more on Wikipedia anyway, ignore mine. link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_effect#Plot
