This made watching that cringefest worth it. Imagine dragons playing zelda music right after was nice too
This really feels like the Elder Scrolls type of open world. I like it. Maybe it will entice more people to buy the Wii U now

After all, a big open world is nice, but if there isn't a lot to do in it, then it makes the world feel somewhat empty and dead, which is not what you want from an open-world title. But it's about a year out, so there's plenty of time for fleshing out this new open Hyrule.
Guess you've never tried Skyward Sword
It wasn't a bad game, just not what you'd expect for the quality of a Zelda game.
The game world itself looks amazing but I hope the final product has a bit more filling the world. I mean it's Nintendo so they totally will polish the game a ton before it comes out, but I really want to see more filling that gigantic open world where it takes four minutes to reach something that's in the distance. I also hope there are like big-ass wandering mini-bosses. Like I wanna go through this world and just straight up see the Giant Lord from Dark Souls II just hanging out in the woods like "hey sup you wanna fight."

Right now it's really all speculation. I'll wait for E3 to get a proper trailer, with eventually a name.
Guess you've never tried Skyward Sword
If you can look past the motion controls it's a amazing Zelda game.
If you can look past the motion controls it's a amazing Zelda game.
The motion controls are so finicky though that it's an immense hurdle to get across, not to mention Fi is probably the most insulting and annoying accessibility mechanic in any video game ever made. And if the motion controls don't work for you, you hear from Fi a LOT.
Am I the only one that didn't have any issues with the motion controls in Skyward Sword? Like at all?
Am I the only one that didn't have any issues with the motion controls in Skyward Sword? Like at all?
Didn't have a single issue in my 40 hour playthrough. Didn't have issues with Fi either, she wasn't as bad as the owl in OoT imo
Looks pretty damn amazing. I've missed out on most zelda titles since twilight princess and this really makes me want to catch up and might be cause me to get a wiiU
Am I the only one that didn't have any issues with the motion controls in Skyward Sword? Getting your ass handed to you by ghirahim in the first battle to being an expert and kicking his ass in the last. I actually thought the controls were pretty good
Stabbing has always been awkward with motion controls but other than that I was fine. I could not fucking stand Fi and how insanely hand-holdy the game was. Every single time anything happened, whether it be a door opening, you blowing open a crack in the wall, a chest appearing, a puzzle starting, or just something you needed to walk to next, the game would stop, pull control away from you, slowly pan over to where it is, even if you are standing right in front of it, then it would focus on it for a couple of seconds, then play the jingle, then slowly pan back. If it was a puzzle, part of a puzzle, or anything with more than the most mild relevance, Fi would slowly explain exactly what it was and if it were a puzzle, how to solve it. Fuck Fi. There were so many things I liked about Skyward Sword and that annoying plot device that treated you like a mentally disabled child (you know what i played when i was five? ocarina of time. i didn't need the puzzles explained to me then, i don't need them explained to me now) that mutilated most of the puzzles.
Guess you've never tried Skyward Sword
Skyward sword was... OK. It wasn't amazing, nor was it shit, but it did lean towards the shit side a tad.

Christ this looks really fun. If there is one game console I would like, it's the Wii U, simply because the (interesting) games coming out on other consoles are also coming to PC.
I liked Skyward Sword and didn't personally have problems with the motion control except for the bomb rolling at times. I did not like how Fi would constantly restate what characters just said and remind you all the time what the objective was just in case you forgot.

Perhaps there could be a less blatant way, but as someone who works and doesn't get to marathon games anymore I really appreciate having cues like that

I'm not sure if it's something wrong with the Wii Remote or Motion Plus add-on or if the game just didn't really like us for some reason.

Almost every time I went into dowsing mode or used my bow, I had to reset the pointer, and every ten minutes or so the Motion Plus needed to be recalibrated because the game wasn't responding properly to my movements. Everything about Skyward Sword was perfect except for the motion controls and Fi. Really wish Nintendo gave players the option to use the Classic Controller or even a GameCube controller to play the game instead.
